Anyone ever taken Zita West DHA? And had this issue

A friend of mine recommended the 3 supplements Luisa zuissman recommended for conceiving and she apparently swears by them and say they helped her conceive

I take the folic acid, couldn’t take CoQ10 as it was made in a factory where soy is processed and I’m allergic to soy! (Weird allergy I know but my doctor recommends avoid even anything made in a factory with it). And then I take the Zita West DHA

However, I noticed since taking them my periods have been delayed each month? And I don’t feel my usual symptoms I’d feel. So I cycle tracked before we threw away the condoms and the 3 months I tracked and didn’t take this supplement I had EWCM around ovulation, high sex drive etc. Periods were on time and regular, not heavy or painful.

Now, I don’t seem to get as strong symptoms and my periods are irregular which isn’t helpful as we’re in month 3 of TTC and late periods get my hopes up!

I spoke to my doctor (regarding another issue but mentioned it) and she was confused and said I should take it during pregnancy, not before it. She said it might be throwing my body out a bit or be adjusting to it

So I just wondered if anyone has tried this and had the same issue? Really considering binning it and just sticking to folic acid as since I’ve taken these I do feel so different!

Even my lines on my OPKS aren’t as dark as they used to be? Which is random but I noticed a different compared to the months I used OPKS and didn’t take the supplement

And if anyone is wondering why I listened to a friends recommendation for supplements, she said it worked for her month 3 she got pregnant after TTC.

And I thought if it helps for us why not! Probably should’ve researched a bit more I know this now

Didn't want to read and run!

I dont know anything about this plan, but if your baseline cycle is so reliable and regular as you describe, I wouldn't really see any need to take anything other than the recommended folic acid (which everyone TTC is recommended to take)?

As I understand it, DHA is not something you should take unless there is an imbalance that necessitates it, so I wouldn’t take it.

@SinkGirl this makes sense as my friend has endometriosis and didn’t have regular cycles

However when she said “it got me pregnant on month 3 of trying” I forgot the fact she has irregular cycles and that it probably helped regulate them

@Birchtree4 thank you so much for not reading and running!

I agree with this I do regret taking now but I’ve stopped now and hopefully this af arrives soon and DHA is out of my system

It has kind of thrown my body out a bit which I don’t think has helped our TTC journey. Hopefully month 3/4 is our month!
