Experiences of implantation bleeding and bfp

Morning! Just looking for experiences of implantation bleeding and cramps and whether you got a bfp, how long after the bleeding?

I am about 11dpo and last night had a pink tinged cm, nothing since. My AF is normally very heavy and starts bright red normally. AF due on Saturday. I felt a bit crampy last night too.

I couldn't hold out and did a cheapy strip test this morning but was bfn.

I think I have got my hopes up too much so will be gutted if get af.

What are everyone's experience with this, can't really think about anything else. Thanks

Do you know how long your luteal phase normally is? If I'm calculating correctly you're estimating a luteal phase of 15-16 days which is unusually long.

Applecrumble24 · 30/11/2020 10:44

I had some spotting for 2 days around 11-12 dpo. I thought this was af but then it just stopped .That seems to have been implantation as I got my bfp yesterday. I got a faint line on frer and a 1-2 weeks on clear blue. Can you get a frer?

Jamill87 · 30/11/2020 10:52

@Curiosity101 I don't really understand what a luteal phase really is!

@Applecrumble24 thanks, did you get any cramping too?

@Jamill87 It's the time between ovulation and your period starting. For most people the CD they ovulate on can vary, but the luteal phase length is normally fixed. An average luteal phase length is normally 12-14 days.

It's definitely possible that it's implantation, implantation is quoted as happening from 6-12DPO so it could be that. Especially if you do normally have a long luteal phase.

I agree with @Applecrumble24 that it could be worth waiting 24-48 hours and then taking a test.

I had about 5 days of very light pink spotting and some cramping, kept expecting my period to "properly" start and then it just didn't. However I have crazy cycles and didn't expect to be actually pregnant (despite TTC!), so I didn't test for another 5 days - at that point I got an immediate very strong positive.

Applecrumble24 · 30/11/2020 11:21

No, I haven't had any cramping yet x

Jamill87 · 30/11/2020 11:24

@Curiosity101 I track my cycles on my Fitbit app, just so I remember when my AF starts more than anything. My ovulation was expected on the 21st on the app but I had really bad pain on the 19th all evening so i have assumed that is when I ovulated, i have tried to cut back on opks etc as it was getting a bit much, in turn i have probably made it worse as not really sure what is happening now.

I think it's just because I haven't had anything like this since we started ttc and we are on cycle 8 now, also it would fit time wise too. I spoke to do about it last night as got a bit excited, now I feel bad as probably got his hopes up too.

Hello, sorry for jumping on your post hun. I’ve been experiencing some spotting for 2-3 days now, it started a light pale pink barely noticeable and then turned to dark brown. I don’t need a panty liner or anything it’s just there when I wipe it’s very light. I’m due on my period on the 10th/11th December. could this be implantation bleeding?

Jamill87 · 01/12/2020 20:30

@Anonymous2345 from what I have read it sounds like it could be. Mine was just the once when I wiped, my AF is due on saturday so I will let you know the outcome x

@Jamill87 fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞

Jamill87 · 01/12/2020 20:37

@Anonymous2345 Thank you! And for you 🤞 have you had any cramps?

Anonymous2345 · 01/12/2020 20:39

@Jamill87 yeah I’ve had mild cramps along side the spotting for 3 ish days. With lower back ache that doesn’t seem to budge lol. Stopped spotting tonight so don’t know what’s going on x

Jamill87 · 01/12/2020 20:49

It does sound exactly like implantation with the lower back pain too then, I have been crampy but more in my stomach.

@Jamill87 hopefully. Hopefully for us both x

Jsh125 · 01/12/2020 23:12

I had implantation bleeding with my second (well that's what epac determined it must have been).

Around the time my period was due (no idea how many dpo I was as I wasn't tracking) I had some bleeding. I assumed it was my period starting as it was the right sort of amount at the right time. I put a pad in & went out for dinner & got drunk Confused. When I woke up it had virtually stopped which was unusual for me & the pad i'd put on before bed was completely clean.

Thought it was a bit weird so did a test the next day & it was super feint (but definitely visible) positive. I had some more bleeding about a week later hence to trip to epac but on scanning there was a heartbeat & she'll be 2 in January.

I must have ovulated later than usual

Good luck, hope you get the outcome you want SmileSmile

Jamill87 · 01/12/2020 23:43

@Jsh125 thanks for sharing your experience, mine was only the once when I wiped and a week before AF due to I am hoping it still was implantation, af is due on Saturday so should know soon hopefully.

Hi,

I had implantation bleeding exactly a week before my AF was due. I was on holiday so didn't think much of it, it was bright red but only there when I wiped once. I had maybe two more instances of brown spotting over the next couple of days but that was it. I never spot before AF so thought it was a bit weird. As I was away I didn't test until 4 days later when I was home (11DPO) and it was a faint line on a FRER x

Jamill87 · 02/12/2020 09:13

@KateColx that sounds similar although mine was just pink, did you have any cramps? I have some frer coming today so am going to test with that today 🤞

I had some spotting for 2 days around 11-12 dpo. I thought this was af but then it just stopped .That seems to have been implantation as I got my bfp yesterday. I got a faint line on frer and a 1-2 weeks on clear blue. Can you get a frer?

Can I ask how long between spotting finishing and getting BFP?

Applecrumble24 · 12/09/2023 07:48

It was the next day, I only tested because it stopped so I was confused!

Bex4567 · 22/01/2024 21:04

Hi op did u get your bfp after hope u did I'm having the same myself

Plumchumm · 23/01/2024 03:49

I’m not OP, but when I was pregnant for the first time, I spotted (quite heavily on the first day) for about 5-6 days before deciding to do a test, which came out blazing positive. I hadn’t tracked my period at the time so didn’t know where I was in my cycle but I remember the first day I thought I got my period - I had the same pains and my underwear was actually quite full of blood. But then by the time I got home it stopped, and I had light brown spotting for days. I always needed a pad but it never filled. My breasts stayed sore and swollen - that’s what made me suspicious and do a test. When I did it, I got 1-2 weeks on clear blue. The next morning it said 2-3. So I must have been spotting 11-17ish dpo
