Hey šŸ‘‹šŸ» was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on how to get rid of cystitis other then the usual cystitis sachets and drinking a ton of water! Me and my husband are on our 4th month ttc and we are following the smep plan! Got my static smile on my opk last night and we dtd. We also dtd the night before as that fell on our every other day day! I always have a wee straight after sex as I didn’t want this to happen! I’m a very clean person and drink lots of water everyday so don’t know how this has happened! I just don’t know how I’m going to cope dtd for another three days straight Confused I really don’t want to miss my fertile window so would really appreciate any suggestions no matter how small! Thank you all in advance Flowers

I am very prone to cystitis and my doctor gave me a long term supply (1 months worth) of trimethoprim and advised me to take one tablet straight after sex! I’ve not had an infection since! Go to your doctor and tell them it’s interrupting your baby making and they might do the same!

Riley1989 · 29/11/2020 10:19

@galatea098 thank you for your reply! I’m so upset! I’m literally ovulating and I don’t think I can’t dtd in this much pain Sad I am having ovulation pains and EWCM and my opk says I’m at peak and now this Sad but I really don’t want to end up with a kidney infection as that happened to me years ago and I ended up in hospital really poorly! Humph Angry I had a really good feeling about this month as well Sad xx

If ur in that much pain ring out of hours dr or 111 as maybe a uti, better to get on anti botics now rather than wait, also try cranberry juice x hope u feel better soon, also swimmers can live for 5 days so as u have been dtd one wee guys just needs to be hanging around

Riley1989 · 29/11/2020 10:36

@88bowie thank you lovely Flowers Praying we may have done enough over the last week that there is one little swimmer that pulls through!! I think it’s a mix of ovulation pains and the cystitis! Will see how I get on over the next couple of hours and if no better with me chugging water like we’re about to have a drought I will call 111 Flowers

Could he ....errrrr 'do it himself' and you inseminate rather than have to struggle through sex this month?

starsinyourpies · 29/11/2020 10:41

You can buy liquid treatment over the counter which I found much more effective than the sachets. Feel for you OP!

Riley1989 · 29/11/2020 10:44

@EvilHerbivore I was thinking this!! Do you think it will make the cystitis worse, having the ahem ejaculate up there Blush? I’m up for trying anything to be honest as long as I don’t end up with a kidney infection! Really don’t want to miss my window!! Flowers

Riley1989 · 29/11/2020 10:46

@starsinyourpies oh really thank you for that! I will have a look see if I can get it from the chemist! Thank you Flowers

D Mannose for future. Turkey baster for now.

EvilHerbivore · 29/11/2020 10:49

I think it'd be the friction of sex/the irritation of your urethra that'd make it worse tbh - just squirting something in your vagina especially high up near your cervix hopefully wouldn't be too much of a problem?

@EvilHerbivore that is very true! Great advice thank you Flowers

BritInAus · 29/11/2020 10:54

Agree - insemination could be a good solution this month! Sterile / clean container, 5/10ml needless syringe (not an actual turkey baster!) Grin insert as deep as possible then legs up for 20 mins or so. I say this as a lesbian mother who conceived this way.

Riley1989 · 29/11/2020 10:54

@galatea098 thank you for all your advice lovely Flowers

@Riley1989 very welcome!! Some fertility - friendly lube is also very helpful. Squirt the semen out VERY slowly - you don’t want it to squirt back out.

Riley1989 · 29/11/2020 11:08

@BritInAus it’s funny you should mention lube this month we have used conceive+ lube for the first time! Wonder if that’s what’s caused it Hmm never had a problem with any other type of lube so think it’s unlikely! It’s the only thing we have done differently this month though Hmm oh yes thank you will do it slowly need to make sure they stay where they are supposed to be Grin Flowers

EvilHerbivore · 29/11/2020 11:08

No problem. Good luck and hope you feel better soon

gypsywater · 29/11/2020 11:08

Could you do other stuff then "put it in" right at the very end?!

Riley1989 · 29/11/2020 11:12

@gypsywater I’ve literally just texted my husband asking him the exact same thing lol he’s at work until later so hopefully I have some time to get myself sorted before he gets home! Thank you Flowers
