8DPO Symptom Spotting [Title edited at the request of the OP]

Hey ladies! Thanks for reading this.
The strangest thing just happened, I went down the stairs and my heart rate spiked to about 160 BPM. I suddenly got short of breath, really warm and my heart was pounding so hard against my chest. It felt like how a panic attack would feel, I literally couldn't breathe.
I thought maybe I'd moved too quickly so once I was settled, I ran down and up the stairs again and my heart rate peaked at about 82 BPM, so nothing like before. I can be quite anxious but I don't suffer from panic attacks. Maybe my anxiety caught up with me?

My fitbit managed to pick it up too.
Anyone experienced anything like this during their TWW?

I experience this but not specific to the TWW, I can be doing something such as walking up the stairs, having a shower or even just standing for long periods. My Dr prescribed me beta blockers which help, I only take them when symptoms come on. Its like a panic attack but without being panicked by anything. I also think my low fitness probably doesn't help! Did you have any alcohol yesterday? I find alcohol raises my heart rate.

Hopefully it's a one off but if you find it happens more often you should probably speak to your GP.

unCliche · 21/11/2020 17:51

@ButterscotchBabe Oh must be terrible for you, it really isn't a nice feeling. Did your doctor say why you may get them? I'm not sure if feeling anxious about the TWW would cause this or if it's a health issue! I had a good stretch and my heart rate jumped to 90 BPM haha!

@unCliche yes it's awful, the first few times it happened I thought I was having a heart attack. Then when it happened more and more often I realised it can't be a heart attack otherwise I'd be dead! The doctor doesn't really know the cause, my thyroid test and ECG came back normal. Initially they thought it was heartburn but medication for that didn't help. The only thing that's helped is Propranolol (beta blocker) it basically stops your body producing too much adrenaline, which causes your heart rate to raise. So basically I have the physical symptoms of anxiety but without feeling anxious. I don't think feeling anxious in your TWW would cause this, although a way to test it, is to not try to conceive for a month and see what happens. It's definitely not normal for your heart to race from a stretch, plenty of times I've rolled over in bed and that's caused it shoot up! I would keep an eye on it, if it keeps happening definitely speak to your GP. They may be reluctant to prescribe beta blockers straight away, they'll prob want to do tests but it's worth getting it investigated 🙂.

I'm also 8DPO today, fingers crossed for BFPs next week 😊🤞

Ugh I hate anxiety! And it sounds even worse having it when there's nothing to be anxious about! But I'm glad you were able to find something to help calm things down. Heart rate spike from rolling over! The body really can be weird. At least I know I'm not imagining things and it does happen to other people, albeit annoying! My DH didn't even believe me while it was happening. He thought I'd hacked my Fitbit to show a higher heart rate????? I know who I'm not calling if I need medical help.

Yaay! Cycle buddies! Good luck with testing! How are you feeling about your TWW? Yesterday I had a sharp pain in my lower right abdomen and then woke up to a spike in BBT, resting heart rate and breathing rate but generally feel fine (minus random heart attack) Have you had any symptoms yet?

@unCliche That's odd your DH thought you'd hacked your Fitbit, why on earth would you want to fake a high heart rate?! There's definitely no benefits 😂.

Feeling a bit nervous as normally my TWW is only 8 days, in my last 2 cycles my luteal phase lasted 8 days and af arrived on 9DPO. I've been taking vitamin C this cycle which is supposed to increase progesterone, so really hoping af doesn't arrive tomorrow! I had light cramping this morning and temp went a bit higher but not much else. Good that your BBT went up, have you heard of a triphasic pattern? How long have you been trying TTC?

unCliche · 21/11/2020 22:41

Omg are we cycle twins?? @ButterscotchBabe last month I had a 9 day LP and the month before that 7 days. Never been on birth control. Both cycles were 23 days but my usual length is 25 days! Really strange cycles but I read I could do something about a short LP so I bought Vitamin C, D, B-100 Complex and Magnesium with Zinc! What are the chances we're going through the same thing! The vitamins have helped with my sore boobs (I think) as they're not as bad as usual.

I completely understand your nervousness and I feel the same way. If AF starts tomorrow I'd have another 23 day cycle so I'm just scared of seeing my temps drop. I'm so worried - I'm waiting to see if my LP increases before even considering when I'll test.

I've attached my chart. I Ov'd on CD 15. It's good that your temp increased today, could mean AF won't come tomorrow. I really hope the vit C works for you. It's so nerve racking worrying about your fertility.

This is my second cycle TTC my first. How about you? What stage of your cycle are you waiting for before you think you'll test? Maybe your temps will keep increasing!

@unCliche haha it seems we are! I came off the pill in August and this is my 4th cycle, TTC #1. My first cycle was 21 days, second and third have been 26 days.

Do you have the Fertility Friend app? I find it really helpful and it predicts your ovulation based on the data you enter. I've attached my chart. Does the heart rate and breathing go up during the luteal phase? I haven't monitored them closely before, OPK and BBT is enough tracking 😂.

It's strange your luteal phases are short if you've never been on birth control, have they always been that way? I guess you've probably not monitored them until TTC.

I'm planning on testing on Tuesday with a FRER, may also do a cheapie on Monday!

Yeah @ButterscotchBabe I use FF too as it's a lot easier to see temp changes. You've had a pretty big jump today! That looks quite promising. Do you think yours could possibly be triphasic? I wonder what our temps will do tomorrow. Also that dip at 7DPO, imagine if it's an implantation dip for you! So exciting!

Not entirely sure what happened to my cycles. Three cycles ago was really strange (although I suspect my LP was 12 days then). I had lots of one sided cramping right from Ov, then I got brown spotting on CD25 before starting AF on CD26. Nothing like that has ever happened before and DH and I weren't really trying and only DTD once. Since then my next two cycles have been rubbish. Probably something hormonal going on. Maybe a chemical. Who knows.

I've heard the pill can do that to cycles but amazing how your cycles went from 21 to 26 days. That's quite a big change. Do you think it's been because of the vit C? I always expect to feel some sort of change from vitamins but I suppose they're working their magic behind the scenes.

Good luck for Tuesday. I'm contemplating testing on Wednesday but maybe I'll join you on Tuesday!

@unCliche temp has remained high this morning 😊, ooh yes I hadn't noticed the dip on 7DPO, hopefully that was implantation 🤞. Although last month af arrived when temp was still high, so doesn't mean I'm safe. Looks like your temp went up quite a bit yesterday, hopefully it's still high today.

Yes I wonder if you did have a CP because it would be very strange for your cycles to change without any obvious reason (birth control, medication, big weight changes). The pill is a nightmare for messing up your hormones, some poor ladies have cycles longer than 45 days. The health professionals always say the pill has no affect on fertility but that's not true, especially not in the short term. I only started taking vitamin C this cycle, so luckily my body lengthened to 26 days itself!

Yes join me on Tuesday! Do you have a FRER?

Hey @ButterscotchBabe, I'm going to create a new post and title it '9DPO symptom spotting' as MNHQ decided to add [Title edited at the request of the OP] at the end of this post's title. I'll reply on the new post
