Broody for second baby...is there ever a right time?!

As the thread title says I am horrendously broody for baby no 2 (weirdly I don't think I was ever broody for baby no 1, just knew I wanted kids so got on with it) but it's not the right time...or is it?!

I have a new job (same company so no issue with maternity benefits), and really want to make an impact before I would go off again so thought that being in post for 12 months would be OK.

But for a number of reasons (not necessarily to do with me) I'm not sure this new role is going to be successful, and if it's not then I may as well crack on with trying...conceiving DS wasn't that quick or straightforward so aware it isn't a given it will happen...

Anyone got a crystal ball they can lend me so I can

Toddler DS landed on me and posted too soon!

Need a crystal ball so I can make an educated decision!!

How old is DC1? TBH I'd crack on if I were you, if you got pregnant this week it would be another 8ish months before you went off on maternity and it took me almost 18 months to conceive DC2.

We're the same - due to various reasons it wouldn't be ideal to conceive in the near future but everything is so uncertain with COVID we're thinking sod it, so trying anyway. I would go for it if I were you - as pp said if you fell pregnant straight Away you'd still have 8 months in the new role which is plenty of time to make an impact.

He's 17mo so would be an ok gap between him and no 2 (if no 2 happens!) even if I got pregnant tomorrow.

Thanks @HorseyintheHouse14. DH is no use, his thinking is that pregnancy has much more of an impact on me/my body/my career so timing completely up to me!
