3 recurrent miscarriages, thrombophilia, 42 yo, what are my chances

Hello everyone

Just as the title says I've had 3 recurrent miscarriages after a successful first pregnancy 3 years ago. I've had a number a blood tests with NHS and unfortunately they've shown thrombophilia which can be a cause of recurrent miscarriages. This means I'll be put on blood thinning medication as soon as I get pregnant.

My issue is I haven't managed to get pregnant for 12 months now. I'm also 42 yo and my periods seem all over the place lately. During my first pregnancy I had an operation when I was 18 weeks and I ended up with a c-section as well due to failure to progress with the birth. So my body has been through a lot over the last almost 4 years.

We are desperate for another baby.

Anyone can relate to this? I've been referred to the fertility clinic with the NHS but I'm not holding much hope since I've already got a baby, they won't prioritise me. What are my options? Happy to go private but I think perhaps I wouldn't rush for IVF just yet. Is there anything else that would improve my chances?
