Spotting; cycle day 1 or wait for heavy?

I always read so many different things regarding this....

Do you regarding spotting as cycle day 1? Or is it the first day you have a proper red flow?

Most IVF clinics regard CD1 to be the first day with 'full flow' before noon. So spotting probably doesn't count by those standards? Hope that helps!
