@Wanderlust2020 I just want to say I think it's kinda rude and judgemental to come on to a topic and just say 'I doubt your pregnant' 'hate to be the voice of reason'

The chances are likely some of these ladies ovulated later than thought, so there is still every chance they could be pregnant this cycle! Don't be so dismissive to other people's feelings, you don't know their ttc journey, it can be really frustrating and this platform is meant to be supportive and helpful!

If you don't think she can be pregnant, good for you but just move on to the next post, some of us need to hold on to that hope that our periods haven't shown up and we are still in with a chance.

People can be very sensitive emotionally when ttcing and there is no 'voice of reason' when someone still has hope!

lastbany · 21/11/2020 10:58

@beanchopper17 Thankyou! I thought exactly same how rude and with her silly emoji eyes! Well eye roll back at ya ! No need to be so rude!

SimplyAmy1 · 21/11/2020 11:01

@Wanderlust2020 yeah I’m probably not pregnant but I’ve been reading other women haven’t gotten a positive until 2 weeks late. I’m new to all of this and idk if you have a child or if you’re pregnant etc if so, then congratulations!! Clearly all of us here are trying and all of these ladies have been so supportive and helpful on my thread.
One lady has been trying for 10 years so to say about being the voice
Of reason, I get that, and what’s meant to be will be but this may be her last try for a baby who knows? I know the message directed at me but I still have plenty of years of fertility ahead of
Me, others may not.

Girls! We are all
Still in until our periods arrive! Xxx

I just never understood the testing time after time.. Hoping to see a positive or a slight change in a vvvv faint line. I had infertility treatments so I'm not new to the ttc process. I just always waited to see if period showed and when I was pregnant I waited a week past period date to test. Just my opinion and this is a public forum. So if you don't want people to voice their opinions then don't post on the wide Web?

beanchopper17 · 21/11/2020 11:18

@Wanderlust2020 if your not the one paying for these tests then it certainly is no concern of yours. Women (myself included) need confirmation sometimes and if peeing on a stick gives them comfort so be it.

Yes this is a public platform, however my mother taught me 'if you have got anything nice to say then don't say anything at all' there's no need to drag others down, we are hopeful, we want to be supportive and help each other. Just move on.

Me and the OP @SimplyAmy1 are at different stages in our journey, I am going on 10years and she's beginning, she and others should feel free to ask as many questions and those of us that are old to the ttc party should share our experience not belittle them!

Now let's forget the negativity, cause I have enough of that when pee on a stick 😆

lastbany · 21/11/2020 11:19

@Wanderlust2020 week you must be on your own caus I've never heard of someone waiting to test till a week late! However (talking of my situation) I am a week late however not testing till Monday as hate wasting money! So not sure what you opinion is on that? Please share on this open forum
Am I allowed to test at 9 days late? As will be Monday

SimplyAmy1 · 21/11/2020 12:53

@Wanderlust2020 we never said you couldn’t
Voice your opinion.
I am late for me period, therefore I tested.
Negative. Still late so I tested again and so on.
It is a public forum so if I wish to do as many tests as I want and post it on MY thread then I will

People are different, Wanderlust, and I’m sure you haven’t reached adulthood without realising that people deal with things in different ways, have you? That would be a scary lack of empathy if that’s the case.

Personally, for me, I’d rather be disappointed by a negative test than wait for the ‘surprise’ of my period coming on, because I feel that this way I have a little bit of control over what is one hell of a rollercoaster.

SimplyAmy1 · 21/11/2020 13:00

@beanchopper17 negativity just follows us 😂

@MarchionessofActon well said!!! Thankyou xx

@Wanderlust2020 I’m gonna continue to post and I hope the others do too!

@SimplyAmy1 how many days late are you now?? How long is your usual cycle? And do you know when you ovulated? 🤣🤣 so many questions but need to make me feel sane?!
I usually have 28/30 days cycles, I'm on day 35 thought I ovulated on like day 15osh with my last easy day 17 and I only used my flo tracking app!
So o just don't even know feel like surely something would be there! Had 12 days of cramps! Constantly feel wet down below! (Sorry) but keep thinking af has arrived go toilet and nope!

SimplyAmy1 · 21/11/2020 15:10

@lastbany ovulated on 3rd November and I’m usually 28 days, but the app said I was due Monday. I’m now 18 dpo and 5 days late!

I came off the pill end of September and had one period in October xxxx

calimommy · 21/11/2020 18:27

I've been pregnant 7 times and hopeful many many other months so I feel like I've peed on every stick going. I think it's absolutely natural to want to know if your body is starting down one path or another. I don't necessarily restrict myself during the TTW, I'll have a glass or two of wine and eat the medium steak, so it's not for that purpose as such (although I'd like to know if we were going on a mad night out) but it's natural to be curious. And I'm fairly certain there is a direct link to a dopamine rush from seeing a second line. I'm currently 21 weeks with my 4th baby and even yesterday I walked past the pregnancy tests in the shop and had an urge to buy one 😂 Apparently the baby kicking me isn't enough reassurance. This was actually the first pregnancy I waited until my period was due to test and only because I was so sure it didn't work out for us that month.

calimommy · 21/11/2020 18:29

@SimplyAmy1 my only concern about your timeline would be that you could still have a slightly usual cycle since you have only had one period since coming off the pill even though you ovulated. So you may not be late after all. Fingers crossed though.

ChristMyArse · 21/11/2020 18:50

OP, I've skim read replies so apologies if I've missed this - this could be a potential chemical pregnancy. The faint line to no line fits. I've had 3 of these and it's very upsetting and disheartening, however I went on to have DD now 4. I agree you're not out until AF and I hope this month is your month, I just wanted to highlight it to you in case it fits.

Best of luck to you x

RosieJess91 · 21/11/2020 18:52

I just want to jump in and say that @wanderlust2020 should mind her own business. As someone who had a MMC at 12 weeks in April and then a very odd CP in June, when I fell pregnant again, I took about 5 or 6 tests to confirm it was correct, I didn't think I was pregnant, so didn't test until the day I missed my AF, and then when it came up positive, I tested multiple times over the next few days to confirm my eyes weren't deceiving me. I'm now 21 weeks pregnant with a little boy! I tested a million times with my CP, because I had a positive test and then a week later, I literally bled for 25 hours, that was it, so not a typical AF, and I tested and tested to see if I'd lost it or it was a weird bleed. Sadly the line started vanishing and I'd lost it.

We should be allowed to take as many tests as we want if we feel the need to. Just because you're strong willed enough to just believe the 1 test you take a week late, doesn't mean we all are.

@simplyAmy1 I hope things go right for you, I hope this is your BFP. And just a bit of advice, avoid the blue dye sticks, they're not very good at with holding evap lines! The first positive I got with this pregnancy was with a pack of Poundland strips. They came up the day of missed period. So they're sensitive enough.

Good luck to every one else trying!! 💗

SimplyAmy1 · 22/11/2020 08:23

@calimommy Thankyou! I have pm’d you, hope that’s okay!

@ChristMyArse I just had a wee google about chemical pregnancy and I haven’t had any bleeding-( yet!) but I’ll deffo keep an eye on that too, Thankyou 💕

@RosieJess91 hey! I’m so sorry to hear about your MMC but congratulations on your new pregnancy!! I’m going to get some more cheap sticks I think xxxx
