Peak on OPK lasting 3 days...

So I'm new to OPK's, its my first month using them so prepared to be told I've got this wrong.

I've had 3 days of 'peak' results now, with the result line being darker than the test line. I did a pregnancy test too and that looks more or less negative (perhaps a vvfl if you squint?) can this happen, or does this point to a possible early pg?

Also today I've been getting the worst pains right in the middle of my abdomen, feels as though its like a cervical type pain. At one point it got so bad I had to lay down and take painkillers. Its now vanished. (it didn't feel like ovulation pain, thats normally one sided for me and makes me want to poo! Blush )

I'm on day 22 of my cycle, normally 33 days but sometimes I get the odd 28 or 37 day'er too.

Any info or advice v much welcome! Thanks ladies.

Hi @Toastedsesame. First month testing with opks can be a bit confusing because you don’t know what to expect from you cycle and what pattern your peak will take.

Yes this can happen..it sounds like you have a ‘plateau’ peak that lasts for a few days. See link below for different patterns of peak:

Good luck on your TTC journey

Interesting @Bouncytree ! Thanks so much for replying and sending this link over. I think I must have a plateau! We DTD yesterday so hopefully that is enough 🤞

@Toastedsesame do you mean a positive OPK rather than a peak? Your peak is just your darkest OPK among your positives if that makes sense? I get a positive OPK for three days on each cycle, with ovulation usually on the third day of a positive x

Toastedsesame · 11/11/2020 22:59

@MintGreenLife no, peak! I had positives leading up to them, where the lines were the same intensity, but I've since had 3 days where the test line is way darker than the control line, so peak?

@Toastedsesame a positive is where the test line is as dark as the control line or darker. A peak is your darkest result. So I had a positive on Tuesday, did two more OPKs yesterday and the first I did yesterday was way darker, then the second was still darker than the control but not as dark, therefore my peak was yesterday around lunch time.

@Toastedsesame I know this is an old thread now but I'm the same as you!! I've had a peak for 2.5 days at this point... going crazy!
