Do you still ovulate when waiting for period after mirena removal

Help! I’m new to mumsnet and currently freaking out since having the mirena coil removed on 15th sept. I haven’t had a period since and am ttc. After the removal I bled lightly for about 5 days which I’m guessing was the withdrawal bleed but nothing since then. I do get symptoms like sore breasts and some cramping which make me feel like I’m going to start my period but then nothing happens. Before having the mirena fitted my cycle was roughly every 33-35 days and now I’m so scared that I’ve ruined my chances of having a baby. Has anyone been in a similar situation or can anyone give me any advice whatsoever? I had the mirena coil for 18months and my period stopped 4months in after it was fitted. I’ve taken pregnancy tests and they’re negative so I know I’m not pregnant. I’m having a blood test tomorrow which I’m hoping will shed some more light also.

In order to have a true period, the body has to ovulate.

I was on the pill and when l came off it didn't conceive for over a year. I spoke to my Gynae consultant and he looked at my bloods. My body had basically "forgotten" to ovulate and needed a kick start with clomid.

The "period" l intermittently did have wasn't a true period, it was where the lining had built up and then got to much so would come away.

Thanks for replying, I’ve read a lot about Clomid, how long after coming off the pill did you start taking it?

It hasn’t been 2 months yet since I had the mirena out and I’ve been reading that it can take up to 3 months before your cycle returns to normal after mirena so think I’m working myself up a lot considering it’s still quite early. Hoping my blood results come back ok

Over a year. My GP surgery wouldn't do any investigations until we'd been trying a year.

Trying to resurrect this thread - I had my coil out at the start of March 2021. Took 3-4 months for my periods to come back and then they’ve been a bit up and down since then… one every month but between a 20 and 35 day cycle. I’ve been testing for ovulation every month since and have not ovulated. I’m very frustrated given that I was guaranteed fertility would come back instantly. I have a healthy 3 year old conceived 2 weeks after coming off the pill. Have any of you had any luck ovulating / conceiving post mirena?
