Hello MN. NC due to topic.

Me and my wife, both female have decided the time is right for a baby. We have an amazing donor on standby. We are aiming for January. He lives 40 minutes away from us. So if my wife is due to ovulate on the weekend we were going to get a local hotel for the night. If it's a week day, we are going to travel back home with the sperm (due to work the day after), to then self inseminate once home.
Is anyone with me on this? Or have any tips/advice/experience?
I have read many threads on here, but most seem to have sperm readily available (partners/husbands)
Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi,

There's a whole section under "become a parent" called "donor conception/parenting" I'm sure you'll find lots of helpful threads there.

@NoCallerID thank you so much
Will move over there now x

You need to inseminate ASAP not 40 minutes later.

You are aware that this is not a legal donor. So he has the same rights as a father in any other situation regarding contact etc and can apply for parental responsibility via court if not on bc regardless of whether you marry or not?

Agree with solo this is a legal minefield.

My sister and her wife had plenty of offers of sperm but went through a sperm bank so that they could both be named as parents on the birth certificate. No having to adopt by the non-biological parent.
