Hey,

Has anyone taken a pregnancy test 5 days after a suspected chemical miscarriage (bleeding) and it still says positive?

Mine took nearly two weeks to go to negative

JFBMac · 26/10/2020 18:53

Thank you for letting me know. X

If you don't mind me asking how far along were you?

How far along would you have been OP?

Rachel93x · 27/10/2020 07:42

Mine became positive within the day I started to bleed x

JFBMac · 27/10/2020 08:06

Do you mean negative? How far along were you?

4 weeks, so really early!

Is it still a strong positive you are getting?

My friend who had a miscarriage that early (6 weeks) had their tests come back negative before they started bleeding.

I had a positive test 3 days into what I thought was an early period. My thread is here - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4035764-Pregnant-after-lots-of-bleeding?pg=1

Please keep an eye on your tests because if they stay positive I think you should get checked out, just in case

Chica1990 · 27/10/2020 08:43

Sorry I missed out saying above I was ectopic. I’m not saying this will be the case for you but if the tests stay positive I think it’s good to get checked out.

Rachel93x · 27/10/2020 09:57

Sorry, I meant negative 🤦🏼‍♀️

JFBMac · 27/10/2020 10:47

Thanks for replying ❤

I bled for 2/3 days and my periods usually 5 days. The bleed started Thursday last week and I still had a positive test last night. I have no pain or bleeding now.

Haha no worries! I was confused. How far along were you at the time?

I was 5 weeks at the time, it was last month actually! I had the positive tests for 4 days but they were just getting fainter as the days when by until I bled and it was negative that very day x

Rachel93x · 27/10/2020 11:17

I just read your reply about 2-3 day period! Was it a faint? Mine was a full period for 5 days and my doctor still had the hope it was going to carry on to a healthy pregnancy! So without getting hopes up, if it's still very much positive I'd speak to the dr for the 48 hour blood test? 🤞🏻

JFBMac · 27/10/2020 12:01

So my period was lighter than normal. My tests are still positive on a digital pregnancy test, and that's 5 days post bleed. Its all super confusing! I keep asking to speak to the Dr but reception won't let me through saying to speak to the midwives 🙈 but my test was negative the day of the bleed however they are all positive now. Aaaah!

Omg I hate dr receptionists like that!! (Not all ate before I get abuse haha)

I just said I think I've had a miscarriage and I had a phone appointment! It's VERY positive that it's on a digital test as they're SO sensitive 🙊

Do you have an early pregnancy unit by your at all?
