How much folate to take? Is it possible to have too much?

I’ve switched to methylfolate 400ug from folic acid as it’s easier to absorb for the body. I’ve also just ordered some Zita West Inositol to help with ovulation but I noticed it contains 200ug of folate.

Is it ok to take 600ug of folate or am I overdosing?

Thanks so much xx

600 is fine... The recommendation is to have 500 and high risk women need to take 5000...

@Waiting4another that’s great, thank you! Just to confirm, you do mean 600 ug is fine? (Micrograms?)

I’m constantly worried about not taking enough, but then if I took too much there’s some studies that have linked it to a risk of autism... it’s all so confusing.

And should it be stopped after 12 weeks of pregnancy?

Thanks ☺️

1000mcg is the safe upper limit to take without consulting a doctor. Doctors can subscribe you doses above 1000mcg if they think you need it.

@Monday55 ok great, so I guess 600ug is ok ☺️
