Me again! Making a few threads as it’s mine and my partners first time trying for a baby - so many questions!

Next Sunday I’ll be 11/12dpo (I’m not sure exactly I just go off if the clear blue static so I could’ve been 24 hours after the static or 48 hours after the static that I ovulated)

I have FRER ready as I thought with them being ‘line’ rather than digital, I’ll see even a faint line that could grow? But now I’m starting to wonder is it best waiting until day before/day AF is due! I would like to know next weekend if it’s a possibility of not I’m unsure why, maybe because I’ll be bored with time on my hands?

Wondering what everyone’s recommendation is? I was planning on taking the FRER on Sunday to see if there’s any faint line or even strong line and if there was take the clear blue the day AF is due just to double confirm

What is best to do Smile

Also, I’m not assuming it’ll be positive I’m not being entitled, I’m just really hopeful and speaking of in the case of if I am pregnant, would 11/12po show clearly on tests.

If you don’t want to drive yourself crazy then definitely test on the day you are due as you will get a clear answer one way or another. The risk when you start earlier is you think you see a hint of something or convince yourself it’s just to early and end up buying loads of tests, which is gutting if it negative. In theory if your pregnant it should be an obvious positive by 14dpo so you know one way or another straight away.

I say this as someone who has always tested from 8dpo and drove myself crazy each month, although to add the months I have actually been pregnant I’ve always had a squinter by 9dpo and pretty obvious line by 11/12dpo but that isn’t the case for everyone obviously. Good luck

@Sevo7 thank you! After a lot of thinking I’m starting to think that’s best, slightly excited as it’s our first time trying but don’t want to get a negative because I tested too early and if I am pregnant (fingers crossed) I still will be if I wait an extra 2-3 days to test!

I went to 21 days birth times. I didn’t want an ambiguous result.

ChickenDipper99 · 18/10/2020 21:05

@BikeRunSki sorry to sound stupid but what is 21 days birth times?

Sorry @ChickenDipper99, that was a typo/autocorrect, it should have read “ 21 days both times”.

ChickenDipper99 · 18/10/2020 21:16

@BikeRunSki ah no worries ! I thought is there something I don’t know here! But that sounds quite good Smile I’m so tempted to test but know it’s just in my best interest to wait as long as possible!

I waited until the day AF was due so 14 dpo and I am so glad I did. There was no guessing with the test, the line was very strong. I also thought testing early could mean 2 (or more) days of disappointment, getting the negative test (or tests if you test lots) plus when AF does arrive.

Jsh125 · 18/10/2020 23:30

I did the same as the others, i waited until period due to test and there was no doubt with the result at all.

With our second baby I had some bleeding which I presumed to be my period but it tailed off so I tested, got a very feint (but definitely visible) positive so bleeding must have been implantation. It did my head in testing for the next few days until the line was much darker so I'd definitely hold out as long as you can bear to!

Good luck!

I tested at 9dpo on a cheapie and frer and got a bfp. Bfp on a digital at 11dpo.

Mylittlesandwich · 19/10/2020 14:47

I usually tested the day AF was due but the month I got my BFP I caved and tested at 13DPO. My first sign is tiredness though, like incredible, fall asleep in your dinner tiredness and I recognised it from the first time I fell pregnant.

adogisforlife91 · 19/10/2020 14:49

I tested at 12DPO and regretted it. I got a clear but thin line with FRER (as in it wasn't a squinter) but then I was so worried about it being a chemical because AF was technically still due that I didn't tell DP until 4 days later when AF due date had truly come and gone! Try to hold out if you can, I know its so hard though! Good luck OP
