And if so, did you do anything different to assist conception?

If you have adult children please plough your time into them. 48 is a huge strain for your body, not just in pregnancy but in the raising a toddler/ primary schooler years. I had DS3 a few weeks after my 40th birthday and it's not been/ is easy on my body/ energy levels. Basically, we're both shattered a lot! He does have adhd and asd so that's especially tough, but I couldn't even imagine doing it now at 48.

I know someone who conceived and carried to term at 54. I think it was a donated egg, though.

My sil had her children at 43 and 45. Naturally conceived and no complications with either (well, nothing different to what I also experienced giving birth at 28).

Friend of mine had a DD at 47 and DP's cousin had twins at 50 - both of them conceived naturally without IVF.

My great grandmother got pregnant at 49 and gave birth at 50. She thought she was in menopause for 8 months. Turns out she was pregnant for 6 of them.

I have a colleague and friend who had her DS at 48. She's the only person I know but it clearly does happen!

Thanks everyone! I know my chances are very, very low, but I love reading these success stories, gives me a little hope Smile

Yes, I used a donor egg - Simply Fertility.

I know first time mum at 45 and one at 46. Didn't do anything special, just happened.
