Pregnancy after a chemical..

Hi all,

Hope you can help 🥰

I'm currently cycle day 14 following a chemical pregnancy within the first month of TTC, last month.

What a rollercoaster ride of a start, into the TTC world! 🥺

I have been told that if I had a chemical, at least I can get pregnant, it wasn't even a baby.. etc etc but yet that doesn't make it any less difficult for me to deal with!

I have been advised that following a chemical pregnancy, your body is at its prime for another pregnancy. Is this correct? I'm currently tracking my ovulation using OPK's because I was unsure as to when I might ovulate this month.. last month it was CD 18, so a little later than the average.

Has anybody had a positive experience following a chemical pregnancy? I've really put my guard up this month following last months heartbreak. ☹️

No advice, I had my first chemical last cycle, I'm now on day 15 of a new cycle.

automam · 15/10/2020 19:34

@3andout sorry to hear you've been through the same - it's horrible. ☹️

It's pretty shitty, and unfortunately really common. Not that that helps when you are going through it right!?!.

Just keep trying, you'll get a sticky one before you know it x

bananamonkey · 15/10/2020 19:53

Kind of, had 3 chemicals in a row post surgery for an MMC but the 4th cycle stuck, good luck OP!

Rachel93x · 15/10/2020 21:26

Hey!

I also had a CP last month and currently on CD11! You've probably heard it all as have I, but my midwife friend said quick, get back to it as you're most fertile after a loss so maybe we can update each other at the end of this cycle 🙊

Best of luck x

automam · 15/10/2020 21:30

@3andout yes too right, it's a crappy time for sure. I've got my fingers crossed for us all! 💓🥰

@bananamonkey so sorry to hear of what you've been through, but what a lovely happy ending! 💓

@Rachel93x sorry that you went through the same! Yes I've heard that is the case, which gives me a glimmer of hope! Fingers crossed for us all. Keep me updated! Xx

I had CP in Aug. Didn't conceive in next cycle but did the one after - now 5+4 and keeping fingers vv crossed. Good luck for this cycle!

2020mission · 16/10/2020 08:48

I've had 2 chemicals since January and both times it took months of trying again to get another BFP so for me it really didn't make another pregnancy any more likely. I hope you have some better luck than me 🤞 I'm still trying...

Nittersing · 16/10/2020 09:01

I'm on about my 5th chemical pregnancy since January. Most cycles I've fallen pregnant and had a faint positive hpt from10dpo onwards. Then between 2-6 days later I have a very heavy period.
I'm still trying with no luck yet.

Bluesky2021 · 16/10/2020 10:11

@nittersing I'm very similar to you. We will keep going

SMurphy91 · 16/10/2020 11:04

I had a faint positive yesterday followed by heavy bleeding and awful cramps the same day. Hoping what they say is true about being more fertile.
Considering it all happened in one day I am feeling totally crushed about it.

It feels really lonely too as DH doesn't know what it feels like to deal with AF along with the disappointment and nobody else knows we're trying so I can't tell to anyone about it Sad

automam · 16/10/2020 11:06

@2020mission I'm sorry to hear you've been through the same. Its utterly devastating..
I have heard that it can also make TTC a little harder, too.. so there's some conflicting info out there. I really hope that you get your BFP soon! Xx

@GanderousGoose sorry to hear you've had the same - but a huge congratulations for you now! So exciting. 💓

@Nittersing I can't begin to imagine how you must be feeling. I am so, so sorry.
It's heart wrenching. The feeling of loss is indescribable even though it's usually so early in. I can completely sympathise.

I have my fingers crossed that you get a lovely sticky baby very soon! Xx

@SMurphy91 sounds similar to me, I am so sorry 😔

I had three days of blazing positives followed by what I assumed was some spotting. I woke in the night to extremely heavy bleeding, clotting and excruciating pain. Followed by AF 💔

The human body is so amazing, but can also be so cruel. I totally understand what you mean about not being able to tell anybody.. I am in the same boat there. I've confided in a few people who have all said 'it wasn't a baby so don't worry' or 'be thankful you can get pregnant' but nobody truly understands the pain.

I am always here for a chat if you need anything, or even just a 'virtual' hand to hold 💓

I definitely had loads of little clots both times it happened and would cry every time I went to the loo during that bleed. My husband was gutted too but I think it's so much worse when it's your body and you have to look at the bleed 🥺 nature is just so cruel sometimes. I understand it can just be a fault in the sperm or egg and nothing but bad luck but you can't help feeling something is wrong. I've bought aspirin that I'm going to take if/when I get another BFP as I just feel I need to try something!

Wishing you all the best and hopefully we will all get a successful pregnancy soon 💕

SMurphy91 · 16/10/2020 19:59

automam thank you, it does feel better to be able to talk on here with people who have experienced the same thing. I've been on and off today teary and okay but already resolved to keep trying Smile
Fingers crossed we all move on to better news next time Flowers

Jsh125 · 16/10/2020 20:06

Just to give you some hope..... I had what I presume was a chemical pregnancy (clearly positive test a day before period due & then bleeding like a normal period 2 days later). I checked a few days after bleeding stopped & had a negative test. As it was so close to usual af time I treated it as a period (physically not necessarily mentally) & tried again around expected ovulation. We got lucky & my now 3 year old was conceived that very next cycle.

It's so hard when you think you're pregnant & then that hope it taken away from you so quickly but don't give up hope, it absolutely could happen this cycle. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and everyone else who's found themselves in this situation
