Can I speak to my GP about trying to conceive?

I'm TTC #1
I'm concerned about my fertility as I have a history of ovarian cysts. Can I speak to my GP as it's only been cycle 1? Will I look silly?

Of course you can speak to them. They will talk through any concerns, and document that you're trying to conceive which may be beneficial in the long term. They won't be rushing to refer you for investigations or treatment immediately.
Just a side note I had a history of cysts and got pregnant very quickly, it's not necessarily a barrier!

Do you know if you are ovulating? Might be worth having the day 3 and day 21 bloods done (think those are the timings) to monitor your hormone levels. How old are you?

I'm 28 & I've done the CB OPK which gave me my ovulation day but are they reliable?

Try getting a phone consultation with your doctor. As pp, ovarian cysts are quite common and shouldn’t affect fertility. At your age I’m not sure the doctor would do much until you have been ttc for a while longer. Best of luck!

It’s only been a month and GP appointments are in short supply.

I'd wait a bit longer, people do conceive quite naturally after having ovarian cysts, I can think of two women of my acquaintance, one of whom had half an ovary missing as a result of cysts, and both conceived easily enough. Jamie Oliver's wife, Jools, and Victoria Beckham have managed quite well.

Spoke to GP & he told me there's nothing that can be done until we have been TTC for one year
