Pain in the bum. Literally! Early pregnancy symptom?

I'm very early in to my pregnancy, 4/5 weeks but waiting for the doctor to fully confirm however I have a very sore bum and wanted to know if anyone else has had this before.

I've had lower back pain for the last two weeks which has been really sore but my bum cheeks (left side more than right) feels like I've done 500 squats even though I actually haven't done any exercise as I've been so wiped out with tiredness (poor excuse, I know). I also have tightness in the backs of my legs too.

I've read it's common in later pregnancy but wanted to see if anyone has experienced this early on and if so, what is this?

That sounds like Sciatica - I got it when I was pregnant but much later

Could be the start of pgp/spd. Can start really early for some women - I speak from experience. I didn't know before my first pregnancy, but my hips are a bit dodgy and once the relaxin kicked in they went to shit. There's a lot you can do to help it, though - especially if you figure out what the problem is early.

My advice is to find a women's health physio and get assessed. Start an ante natal pilates class ASAP.
