Hi, I thought I’d share my story of getting pregnant shortly after LLETZ procedure. First of all, I was asking for lletz for a while as I was having some pain and bleeding during sex but as I wasn’t 25 I was not allowed to have one beforehand smh... so when I turned 25 I had one and came back with moderate to sever high grade dyskaryosis. I was referred to have colposcopy within days and at colposcopy I was told that I should have lletz then and there so I did. I was awake and got an injection to numb the area- wasn’t really painful just uncomfortable. There was a screen right next to me so I could see the changes before having a bit of my cervix sliced out lol. Whole visit with procedure took 10min. I was then told it was precancerous cells etc and that I should not under any circumstances get pregnant within next 12 months. Well I did by accident First time we had sex after lletz- 4 weeks later (we were trying for months before lletz that’s why I wanted smear test to find out if everything is okay down there since I wasn’t getting pregnant). Tbh I didn’t track then as I thought I just couldn’t get pregnant especially after lletz. Anyways we found out when I was 4 weeks pregnant and I was panicked and worried sick as everyone was telling me how bad it is etc and will
have miscarriage or preterm baby. All not true! First GP we saw said it’s fine and to not worry and we would just have internal scan at 12 weeks and at 20 to measure the cervix. All was fine and was told if it wasn’t I’d get stitch put on at my 12weeks mark. All I all I was worried sick but had pretty uneventful pregnancy cervix wise and didn’t get dilated and had to be included due to my baby not moving much- My induction started at 38 + 4 my waters broke 12h later and had a baby 12h after that. So don’t worry if you were like me and got pregnant shortly after LLETZ just make sure you keep on top of your appointments and ask for internal scans when possible. Oh one last thing, after lletz my orgasm weren’t as good, they actually felt like I can’t climax all the way but after giving birth vaginally, it all went back to normal- if anything my orgasms are now more intense :)
