Newbie here 🙋🏼‍♀️

Just had implant removed after approx 14 years, advised to start on pregnacare pre-conception. Does anyone have any experience TTC after implanon? How soon did AF return to normal for you to accurately track?

TIA 😊 xx

@HopefulFTM I wish I could help you and hoping that you have some positive replies but I had mine removed on the 11th August after 10 years and I'm still waiting for AF to arrive, I had some spotting on 25th/26th September but you couldn't call it a period. I've been using OPK's and have never got a strong line yet I seem to have what I think is ovulation pain all the time

HopefulFTM · 07/10/2020 21:27

@DNpink82 I've had sporadic bleeding for the last 12 months, becoming more regular in the last 4 or so months, so hoping that continues and I can get a good few regulars to track. Dont want to focus on everything too much and stress myself out but just so bloody excited I cant help it haha! I haven't ordered any OPKs, just a box of regular tests but might look into them just to give my an idea of what's going on. Hope you have success soon ❤

@HopefulFTM I had no bleeding at all in 10 years. Fingers crossed you conceive soon 🤞🏼

@HopefulFTM hey OP!

I had mine removed after 6 years (two implants back to back) and was super worried about fertility and AF returning to normal.

I didn't have a withdrawal bleed straight after like some do.. but I did get AF 4 days to the day of the removal which was amazing! I was so worried that I wouldn't get AF for a long time and had read some horror stories 😔😅 but all was well!

I actually did conceive the first month / cycle after removal, but sadly it resulted in a chemical pregnancy 💔👼

It just shows that it can be super quick after removal, though.

Now going into my 2nd cycle TTC. Wishing you luck, and baby dust! Everything will work our for you 💓

confusedcoco · 07/10/2020 21:55

** I meant I got AF 4 weeks to the date of removal. 🤦‍♀️😂

You can tell I'm tired.. 😂😂

HopefulFTM · 07/10/2020 22:30

@confusedcoco aww fingers crossed I get something quick so I can track, I live by spreadsheets so not being in control is sending me loopy and I've not even started yet 🙈 Just ordered 25 OPKs so will see what they say. So sorry about your chemical, hopefully cycle 2 brings you good news ❤ xxx

I had my implant removed on 9th January and got my first AF on 23rd April. I had the implant in for around 8 year and I was on the pill for 7 year before that. My cycles since have been quite long and seem to range between 35-46 days. I can’t really remember what my cycles were like beforehand however so this could be normal for me.
I’m going to try soy isoflavones this cycle to see if this helps regulate my cycles.
Wishing you luck on your journey 💜💜

Marmite133 · 07/10/2020 22:36

I had mine removed after 11 years. Exactly 3 weeks later had AF for 5 days and was pregnant the next month. Sadly ended in mc but my cycles were bang on 28 days after and always with a 5 day bleed. I wasn't regular in my teens so I was surprised!
2 months after mc had 2 chemicals in a row. Now pregnant again so conceived 7 months after removal. Remember a year to conceive is totally normal! 🤞

Marmite133 · 07/10/2020 22:37

Also I found temping the best way to track! Those line graphs just bring me joy 😂

HopefulFTM · 07/10/2020 23:00

@MrsLauraM Have never heard of isoflavones, will look into them. I honestly can't remember what AF was like in my teens, think I've blocked it out so must have been bad 🙈 good luck ❤

@Marmite133 My last bleed lasted 12 days, which was before my implant was removed, but it was very light, almost non-existent some days so don't even know if it counts. So sorry for your MC and chemicals 💔 I've no idea what temping is but sounds right up my street 🤣🤣

There's lots of apps out there for temping. Basically you take your temperature every day. 48 hours after ovulation, your temp will rise slightly so you'll know you ovulated. After a month or 2 (if you're not already pg!) you'll see a pattern and you'll know when you're due to ovulate. You can use it alongside opks but I honestly found them faff and knowing when they're properly positive is hard. I never got a positive one (window for that is pretty small) but was obviously ovulating. Good luck!

HopefulFTM · 08/10/2020 08:16

@Marmite133 ahhh OK. Will pick up a thermometer when I'm next out and give that a bash then. Thanks 😊 Xx

With DS1 I had my implant removed after 15+ years, had a small withdrawal bleed then ovulated 45 days later and found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks after that. That seems to be a pretty common story too, so don’t be disheartened even if you don’t get AF for a while...

DNpink82 · 08/10/2020 15:23

@HopefulFTM make sure it has 2 decimal places, I ordered my off amazon for £10

HopefulFTM · 08/10/2020 18:01

@Waiting4another oh wow, thats quick. I'd like it to happen before March, thats my hope anyway. Dont want to become obsessed but its so hard not to 🙈

@DNpink82 will have a wee gander on amazon this eve and get something ordered 😊

Xx

@HopefulFTM Everyone is really different, but I think I was reading that for under 35’s it takes about 4 months on average to conceive, so the odds by March are not too bad - fingers crossed for you!

HopefulFTM · 09/10/2020 22:02

@Waiting4another looks like AF might be making an appearance so hopefully be able to start tracking properly this month. Got a big amazon delivery yesterday of diff tests, thermos etc so will see how this all goes. Xx

Haha - Amazon must be absolutely raking it in from all of us! Good luck @HopefulFTM
I don’t think I am nearly committed enough to temp, but my OPK was looking a tiny bit darker today and I am on day 40 after removal at the moment so hoping history will repeat itself on day 45!

Hi, had my implanon removed two days ago, ready to start trying for baby no.2. Fell really quickly with no1 after coming off the pill so hoping it will be similar off implanon. Periods have been really irregular on implanon though whereas were like clockwise before it so hoping this won't affect it.
