Unprotected sex within fertile window & morning after pill

Not sure if I’m posting in the right thread but here goes..

I had unprotected sex last night (silly I know) heat of the moment and all.. first time in a while! I am going to get then morning after pill tomorrow as was at work today so wasn’t able to go. I was just casually going through my Fitbit app & realised that I am currently in my fertile window, 3 days to go until I ovulate. I have now started panicking & googling, I have red several articles that if you are within the fertile window you cannot take the morning after pill as it’s possible the sperm has already met the egg.. has anybody had this situation?

Sperm can only meet the egg once you've ovulated. So far, there's nothing to meet if you haven't. As I understand it, the MAP works by preventing ovulation. That's why if you take it after ovulation, it won't work. You should still be ok but ask the pharmacist.

Yeah you need to try and get the MAP ASAP! Get in there before you ovulate

@Sarahd93 I am in the exact same situation as you although the sex happened last Sunday for me.. app said I was ovulating and I stupidly waited about 69 hours to get the pill.

I tested today sex was last Sunday so 8 days since and I saw what I thought was a faint postive but also not sure if it’s a indent. I posted a thread on it and most posters think it maybe indent I’m now waiting for either my period or the test line to get darker. Shittin myself tbh

I went to chemist today to see the pharmacist and I told her I was in the fertile window and she worked out my ovulation etc, according to her my fit bit is slightly off and I actually ovulated on Sunday/today. So she said I was not able to have the map as it wouldn’t work if I have already ovulated.. so looks like I am in the same position as you and basically riding it out 🙄 also shitting myself...

Are you within the window to have an IUD fitted as a form of emergency contraception?

I’ve never heard of them actually refusing to give someone the pill.. surely it’s your choice if you want to take it ? I have heard it doesn’t work if taken after ovulation either but I don’t think it’s always the case..

What about taking ellaone? The newer pill it is £35 though .. but can be taken 5 DAys after sex and apparantly some evidence that this can stop implantation
