8DPO and no line - any hope left?

Hi all,

So I've just taken an FRER test and it was negative, no sign of a line at all. AF isn't due until 9th Oct, and I'm 8DPO. I know I shouldn't have done it, but they arrived in the post today from Amazon and I thought why not To be honest though, I'm a bit bummed out now (and raging with myself cause I knew i would be if this happened!) I've been feeling a bit out of sorts for a few days, noticing a few symptoms (peeing more, some slight cramping, sore breasts etc), so although trying to remain realistic, I have to admit I'd got my hopes up a little! Hard not to when you want it so badly. I just wanted to know, any of you happen to have tested negative 8DPO, then tested positive a few days later? Just so I can maybe hold onto a glimmer of hope for a while longer!!

8dpo and you’re asking if people had a negative at the same point, followed by a positive? I think it’s fairly safe to say that many, many women will have had this. 😅

Ovulation is not an exact science and 8dpo is extremely early to test. I would give it at least a couple more days before testing again!

Cheers frankly, for the kind reply.

The reason I've asked is as any of the threads I've read, the people who have tested at 8DPO have detailed that they found a faint line, which then got darker. I hadn't come across any where someone had tested and seen it was def a negative, and then tested again. Hence why I asked.

I'll obviously test again, was more curiosity as I noticed it wasn't something I'd come across in the threads I'd been reading.

@HopefulMama2Be I've seen other threads where women got an early BFP, but I do think these are outliers to be honest.

Both times for me, I tested 100% negative until 11DPO (usually 2/3 days before AF is due), and even then it was a faint BFP.

Try not to worry if it came back negative just yet, you're not out until AF comes along :-) The TWW can be excruciating, hang in there!

The most common day for implantation is 9dpo and then it takes a few days for the hcg to build enough to be detected.
Its really hard but I'd try and stay positive. When you're wanting it, every thing seems like a symptom as that's what you want when most are the same as what you get before AF.
I wouldn't test again til really close to when you are due. I got my positive at 10-11dpo and even then it was faint x

I took a frer a few days ago at 9dpo and it was 100% negative. I then took another yesterday at 11dpo and got my bfp! So you're definitely not out yet. Good luck 💞

ShalomToYouJackie · 03/10/2020 22:02

8DPO is probably the earliest possible day you can get a BFP and to rule yourself out that month based on a BFN at 8dpo is bonkers.

I got a BFP at 9dpo followed by implantation bleeding that afternoon and a BFP at 13dpo. Now 9+3.

You're not out until AF arrives.

ShalomToYouJackie · 03/10/2020 22:03

That should say BFN at 9dpo

Bouncycastle12 · 03/10/2020 22:04

I had a negative at 12DPO and then a positive at 14! Def don’t stress now!

Humpty11 · 03/10/2020 22:05

@HopefulMama2Be 100% hold on to the glimmer! I tested at 8dpo and had nothing and tested at 14dpo and had a positive. Don’t lose hope yet.
With my first pregnancy I found out I was pregnant at 8dpo but I don’t think this happens very often.
Everything crossed you get the result you’re after soon 🤞🏼
