“Not pregnant” result but wondering...

My period arrives like clockwork every 4 weeks. DH and I have been TTC for a few months now, and this morning I realised period was 2 days late.

I’d already had my morning wee but I’m very impatient so I went out and bought 2 Clearblue Digital tests and tested when I got home.

Test came back with “not pregnant” but suggested to try again in a few days if AF still hasn’t arrived.

I’ve had sore boobs for about 5 days and a few stabby pains about 2 days after we had sex during ovulation period, have also been ultra tired for the past week or so. I know these could all be pregnancy symptoms but also know it could mean absolutely nothing!

Has anyone had a BFN result and then tested positive a few days later? Trying to stay optimistic without getting my hopes up!

It takes longer to get a positive with a digital as the HCG needs to be higher 😊 have you got any line tests? I'd always start with those and more often than not people get the best result with first morning urine so ALWAYS use that or wait until the following day to test! If you absolutely must test later in the day it's recommended you wait 3-4 hours without weeing and not to drink too much. Someone told me 'if your wee is lighter than apple juice don't test with it' 😊

I’ve not done a line test as I was hoping the digital one would be less open to interpretation, but I think I’ll get one of those as well as do both tests with my first pee next time - I’m not sure how long to wait though!

You could buy a line test today and do it later on after holding your urine for a few hours. If you are 2 days late you should get a positive if you are pregnant

I got my positive 1 or 2 days before my period was due, tested in the evening and hadn't held my urine (pic attached)

Do a First Response if you can get one, I got a positive in the morning and evening the day before my period was due.

I got my BFP when I was 10 days late, all tests prior had been negative.

@pileofToss I literally just have. 3 negative tests ove the last 7 days. The last on on Thursday (dye) with morning wee. Took my last digital test today as I realised I'm CD 30 and not 28 as I thought

Wouldn't it depend on the length of time between ovulation and day period due? You can be 2 days late and 13dpo or 2 days late and 16dpo for example.

@BessMarvin I’ve been wondering that! I have a 12 day LP and I’m 12dpo today, AF due tomorrow but I’ll be technically ‘late’ by 14dpo if AF doesn’t show. I had a BFN today on a FRER though so I’m most likely out this month

@BessMarvin @Nam095 yes period wouldn't be late until past 14 DPO .. I had done OPKs so know exactly that I was 1/2 days before my period when I got my faint positive posted below. Unsure if OP has done OPKs as not mentioned in post.

Thanks. I always thought it was more about ovulation, so found it confusing that tests always talked about how many days late, but I suppose many people don't work out exactly when they ovulated and only have their period due date to go by. Did explain why because I have a short LP that the first time round I didn't get a positive test till ages after I was due (that and I didn't realise how faint lines could be) but the second time round I knew what I was looking for (and knew about FRERs).

I track my periods and predicted ovulation but haven’t taken any ovulation tests. Predicted was 2 weeks ago, AF was due on Thursday but still nothing!

I’m going to do my next tests first thing Monday and going to buy a line test in addition to the digital.

Keeping my fingers massively crossed! Trying not to get my hopes up but also not been late before so I’m not sure what else could cause it 😬
