Second month of faint positive

I’m only on my third month of TTC baby #2 so still early days. My first month I got a very clear negative result. Last month however I had a pretty clear positive, I couldn’t believe it and tested for 3 days straight and watched as my line got lighter and lighter. In the end I gave up testing and waited for my period to see if it would arrive and it did.

I threw out the batch of tests and ordered some different ones. We DTD 3 times during my fertile week because DH was away working and we couldn’t anymore than that. I’m not due on for another 4 days but tested yesterday and this morning and again I have the faintest ever line and it hasn’t gotten any darker. I don’t know why I’m getting these faint lines but I’m taking it from last month the same thing will happen and my period will arrive?

Has anyone had this happen twice in a row? I feel confused. I didn’t go through this with DC1 as they were a very happy surprise.

It sadly sounds like you may have had a chemical pregnancy last month. This means you conceived but the fertilised egg failed to implant.
This is very common. A positive test is always a positive. When a positive fades away in subsequent test this indicates a loss. This is how I discovered my miscarriage three months ago.
I would wait a few days and test again. It can take over a week for the line to get darker (I’m in this position right now too).

False positives aren’t a thing ... so ... tentative congratulations! I hope this one is sticky and goes from strength to strength.

It’s a stressful waiting game that I’m currently going through myself. My lines are faint and haven’t got any darker.
As long as they are still there then we are pregnant.

Thank you for your reply. I have been googling chemical pregnancies and yes, sadly it seems that may have been the case. My period was no different but I suppose it would have been so early that there would have been no real effect to show the loss.

I think that’s what’s happening this time as well as my result was stronger yesterday than today. I’ll test in a few days and keep my fingers crossed.

I hope that you have a happy result too! The wait is really difficult.

The wait is terrible! Hoping and praying for good outcomes for us both.
