Vasectomy reversal success story!

Hi everyone. I've posted on here quite alot over the lady 2 years. Dp had a vasectomy reversal 2 and half years ago and we have been ttc conceive ever since. Semen analysis showed DP had an ok account and morphology, but only 10% motility . It looked unlikely that we would we ever conceive naturally. Nevertheless, we kept on ttc, we tried everything suggested on here, high dose vit c, ubiqionol, l'cartinine, no hot baths, no cycling, limited drinking, more leafy greens, SMEP, opks, temping, pillow under the hips, preseed, concieve plus, you name it, we have probably tried it.

Nothing worked. Its been 2 years of trying. I binned the opks, deleted all the apps, smep was forgotten about, we spent August eating out loads and drinking with friends, the ONLY thing I did differently was drink loads of pomegranate juice as I heard it helped. We didn't even dtd on the day I ovulated, I was just so fed up with ttc.

And then this month, af just didn't arrive? I refused to do a test, so sick of seeing negative tests, I couldn't bear to see another one. After a week, dp convinced me to do one, saying if I was going to have a wine that night, it was best to make sure, even though we both knew it was highly likely to be negative. We were both in shock to see a postive result, I bawled my eyes out while dp just kept looking at at and saying "holy shit".

So to anyone who has been trying ages, don't give up. Or maybe do! Bin the opks, delete the apps and see what happens :-)

Congratulations!! I've heard so many people say that after years of trying it finally happened when they stopped trying Smile

Hi RobinRose, I remember you :-) its not yet been a full year for your dh has it? My dp thinks that maybe his equipment needed a year to recover from the trauma of the reversal, then another year to build up quality. I think the high dose ubiquinol he has been taking since March, combined with me drinking loads of pomegranate juice last month did the trick. I heard it helps with cm, and I can say, it did indeed! Tmi perhaps, but no preseed was needed at all that month.

BergamotMouse, I used to see people on here all the time saying "just stop trying", and I would get so mad, haha. When you're desperate to conceive its almost impossible to not be thinking of it at all times. But last month was just really busy and I was so demoralized from ttc for so long that I finally, genuinely just forgot to try. And hey! Baby on the way :-)

I'm so happy. We hadn't told anyone that we were ttc, so it's been a very lonely journey, this message board has helped me so much. Thank you so much to everyone who has given me advice, held my hand when I was to scared to take yet another test and shared their own stories. You've all been wonderful, it's made this journey all the more bearable knowing there were other women out there like me :-) thank you

It has been a year today since dps VR so nearly! I will try the pomegranate juice! DP is taking coq10 which i think is ubiquinol?
I haven't told any of my friends or family we are trc so I understand the loneliness.
Hope everything goes ok!x

CausingChaos2 · 18/09/2020 07:33

Congratulations! What a lovely surprise for you both.

PurpleEllie · 18/09/2020 20:09

RobinRose, Coq10 is uniquinon, its not ad easy for the body to absorb. Ubiquinol on the other hand is stronger and easier to absorb. It's also flipping expensive, but way cheaper than iui which was looking like our only other option. Good luck! :-)
