I am planning on TTC after christmas, but Im thinking if i stopped the pill now it would be higly unlikely I would get pregnant in the next two months is it? (am getting married Dec 22nd and dont want to be PG then)

Do you think its safe to stop now?

(can't use condoms btw as we both react badly to them)
So it would be all or nothing so to speak.

Apparently you're very fertile straight after you come off - I conceived within 2 months. They say it's a good idea to hold off for 3 months so your hormone levels get back to normal. You could just avoid sex for the fertile time of the month.

kitsandbits

let me say this , and i will say it only once

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET PREGNANT , DON;T TAKE THE CHANCE!

c'mon, how many threads on here about the one time someone takes a chance, and 9 months later they are in the delivery suite.......

you can become super fertile when you come off the pill.....

i got pregnant one month and 2 months after coming off the pill...

and DO NOT use the withdrawal method as contraception either.

stay on the pill if it is that important

Lulumama I dont mind getting PG now, I would like to, amd just a bit worried about being ill at the weddiing - a baby in 9 months time is brilliant - would love it!

I just dont want to vomit on the priest!

Do not plan it.

I shall not work.

It never does.

Believe me.

Plan nothing!!!

Lulumama · 08/10/2007 20:06

yes, but bear in mind with your 3rd, you could be bursting at the seams a lot quicker

kitsandbits · 08/10/2007 20:08

Lol cool, i planned DS2 just fine

Came within 2 months of trying.

DS1 took a while longer - but was young and was pissing about with the pill..on/off ect

I stopped taking my pill about mid august. i'm woried about how long it will take me to get preggers though as i have been on the pill for 12 years without a break.

i'm a few months off 29 so i'm also concerned about the fact that i'm getting older. Also I have always thought that I would have trouble getting pregnant and it might not happen for me. I dont know why.

Any ideas to speed the process up/cheery stories about getting pregnant straight away?!

Thanks

Frizombie · 08/10/2007 21:56

3 mths

IdrisTheDragon · 08/10/2007 21:57

Stopped taking the pill and 6 weeks later, DS was conceived .

shoesarefab · 08/10/2007 22:01

Wow, 6 weeks. thats quick. lol. had you been on the pill for 12yrs beforehand though!! Does it make a difference?

My other half is using it as an excuse to do the deed twice a day, i was sure i'd be pregnant by now.....

IdrisTheDragon · 09/10/2007 17:09

Had been on the pill for 11 years beforehand .

DD was a "happy mistake" - I think DH and I are rather fertile .

rozzyraspberry · 09/10/2007 19:29

If you don't want to feel ill at your wedding I would stay on the pill for the time being. Like others have said you can be pretty fertile when you first come off.

DS1 and DS2 got pregnant 2nd month after coming off pill, pregnant again after falling pregnant first month after stopping pill.

nomoremagnolia · 09/10/2007 21:39

22 months and counting...
Having said that if 'taking a chance' is not realistic I wouldn't risk it. An extra couple of months will not make that much difference in the long run and you want to be able to have a glass of champagne at your own wedding as well as not having to worry about puking on the vicar (congrats on the wedding BTW )

Feenie · 09/10/2007 21:50

2 months - had a cycle of 35 days and another of 17 days then.....! Had no idea we were so fertile.

lucykate · 09/10/2007 21:55

took me 6 months to conceive after the pill

cheritongirl · 10/10/2007 20:32

i conceived almost immediately, much to my surprise!
