Long story short- I have a DD who will be 4 soon. I had a mc at the beginning of January 2019 and we've been ttc since but nothing. Me and DH have had all the fertility tests a few months ago, which have come back clear. One of the scans I had a few months ago showed an 18mm cyst on my left ovary, last month it started causing me so much pain that I had a scan two weeks ago and it's now the size of a boiled egg and it's anendometriomas cyst, so it's grown considerably. I spoke to my gp the day after the scan as the results were in and they were going to contact the gynaecologist asap.
Fast forward to today and I called the gp again (I was advised to if I hadn't heard anything within a week) and apparently they sent a referral to the gynaecology dept last Monday but hadn't heard anything and they advised I ring the gynaecology dept directly, which I've just done.
The receptionist at the gynaecology dept couldn't see anything on my records but that's not to say it hadn't been received. Before anything is logged apparently the gynaecologist reads it first and once they've decided what to do next then they log everything! If the gp has marked my referral as urgent then I should hear within the next couple of weeks, otherwise I'll have to wait at least THREE MONTHS for an appointment!
The receptionist I spoke to said the last thing they have on my file was from May which is when we had our tests. It was only when I got off the phone I realised that the gynaecologist I had a video call with last month regarding a having a HyCosy done hadn't logged it, which would explain why I still haven't received a letter for that!
I'm going to leave it until the end of the month and if I don't hear anything regarding the next course of action for the cyst I'm considering calling my GP, telling a white lie about any pain I'm in and ask them to phone the gynaecologist directly to get me seen asap. Although to be fair I am in a lot of pain with it when it flares up, which is usually during my period and just before ovulation. It's extremely painful all around the pelvis and ovary, and causes sciatica on my lower back and down my left bum cheek. All I can do is use hot water bottles and Codeine and when it's really bad I have to take time off work (not ideal)
The gp I spoke to said that whilst the cyst probably won't have an impact on trying to conceive, it can cause problems in early pregnancy and can result in an ectopic pregnancy, so I need it sorted asap. So basically I'm in limbo at the moment and I just wanted to vent.
They know we want to have another baby, which makes it even more frustrating, especially as I'll be 40 in December so I know time is not on my side, even though my fertility levels are good, but that's not to say that the egg quality is declining. I'm taking Coq10, Vitamin D and Folic Acid, and I track with OPKs (which are always spot on) so I'm doing all I can. I just feel so deflated and need a rant!
