Partial molar pregnancy followed by positive test!

Looking for some advice/support from those who may have been through something similar. We had a d & c at the end of July for a suspected partial molar pregnancy. Histology hasn’t been able to confirm this yet but I will know for sure in a week whether or not it was a normal miscarriage or partial mole. Because it wasn’t confirmed with initial tests, I have only had 1 hcg test instead of the fortnightly tests which are routine with partial mole patients. So to keep track myself, I have been using HPT’s to see if the lines are getting lighter. They were very faint for a few weeks but in the last few days I have had very clear positive pregnancy tests that have gotten darker every 2 days. It’s possible we are pregnant again as we did have unprotected sex one time. I know this isn’t encouraged and I know why but I didn’t have my period back and assumed I wasn’t ovulating - especially since there was still HCG in my system. Has anyone else fallen pregnant after a miscarriage with low levels of HCG still in their blood (confirmed by a HPT?) im really hoping it’s a new pregnancy and not residual molar tissue that has grown back. I hear this is very rare for a partial molar pregnancy so I’m choosing to stay positive. I guess there’s no point going for a scan until it’s a bit further along as I would only be 4 weeks today based on when we had sex. This is the exact reason doctors ask you to avoid a pregnancy after a molar one as they can’t tell if it’s molar tissue releasing the HCG or a new, viable pregnancy!! Sorry for the long post - is a somewhat complicated situation and I can’t find any similar stories online.

Hi,
I had a partial mole back in April and only discharged from charringcross July. After D&C It took ages for my period to return 10 weeks maybe longer. After that I was having regular Af (assume ovulating). I would contact your EPU if you haven't been referred yet and get bloods done. They need to be aware if HCG is on the up even if its a new pregnacey or not. Keep me updated with how you get on fingers crossed its a new pregnacey and all goes well!

Thanks for the reply @Leaf87. Happy to hear you’ve been discharged from follow up. I will contact the women’s clinic where my D&C was done tomorrow and find out a course of action. Any ideas on how they might differentiate between a new pregnancy and molar tissue? I guess bloods and a scan.
