Is anybody worried about ttc and then there being a second lockdown?

We are planning to start ttc baby no.2 this month which we had been very excited about finally feeling ready to do this but my friend mentioned to me earlier today when we were discussing covid that a spring pandemic is usually followed by a worse winter and she thinks there could be a second lockdown. My worry is, that I’m self employed and I found it quite hard financially to be out of work during the last lockdown (self employed gov help was based on a 3 year average earnings, one of those years I was not working due to maternity leave so that was taken off the 80% 🙄)
We have savings but not tons and I’m worried I’d be pregnant and then struggle financially if this happened and it would spoil the experience of my last pregnancy with stress.

I know this is all ‘ifs’ and ‘but’ and may not even happen but please be kind, I’m hoping more for some reassurance or to see if others have felt this way

I’m not sure the country could economically recover from another full lockdown, so I think it will be local lockdowns, and extra social distancing rules tbh.

I don’t know whether they will make the vulnerable shield again though.

If you can’t afford another baby right now then don't TTC one. Lots of people have a larger age gap because of financial reasons. Lots of couples only have one child for the same reason.

If you are still under 40 then you can afford to wait until you are more stable.

I know how you feel. We just got our BFP for our second, and though I'm excited I am worried about the virus and about the economy - but what can you do? You have to keep living and hope for the best. You could hold off if you wanted to, but I agree with a pp that I don't think we'll face another lockdown like we have, the economy wouldn't survive

@ALLIS0N we can afford a second child, although we don’t have tons of savings (especially since covid and a redundancy but my partner has since got a new job). We both earn a good wage and are trying to put more away and the plan was to save extra while ttc/the pregnancy and therefore we would be fine in regular circumstances, it’s just as long as I’m not out of work for months again with another lockdown as that could be a bit of a stress. Fingers crossed it won’t come to that and as others have said, it would be very difficult on the economy
