Period Late whilst on Copper Coil

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to Mumsnet but hopefully someone could shed some light on my current situation.
So I decided to get the Copper Coil fitted back in July, 6th of July to be exact. The fitting was perfectly fine, no hassle and I have always been on top of checking my stings and ensuring everything feels ok.
My first period was heavy, it lasted 9 days and I had some very bad cramping, which is something I never experienced before the coil. Before getting the coil, I was on the pill for 6 years, however came off the pill in December 2019 and was contraception free for 6 months. During this "no contraception" period, I realised I have slightly irregular cycle, ranging between 26-31 days. My first cycle after getting the coil fitted was 27 days, and I had all the PMS symptoms I normally get- cramping, and (TMI) a little bit of diarrhoea. After 9 days of bleeding, I eventually stopped my period. During my current cycle, I've had sex on 5 days, more than once on each of these days. 2 of these days was during my "fertile window", however didn't stress as I am obviously on the coil. Now, I am currently 4 days late on getting my period, I took a pregnancy test 2 days ago (meaning when I was two days late), which came back negative. I feel like I'm going to come on my period at any second, I have all my PMS symptoms, and even can smell the iron like blood smell when I visit the toilet, but still no blood. Has anyone else had irregular periods or similar issues to this? I'm unsure if the excessive bleeding would affect my following cycle or not? I intend on taking another test tomorrow at sometime or Monday morning... will the time of day affect the results massively? I know some recommend the first urine sample of the day to be used. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi FingersxCrossed,

We're sorry to hear this is happening - we've no expert advice to offer unfortunately but we wanted to say hi and give this a bump for you.

We hope some of our other posters will be along soon to offer you their support.

All the best
