BFN 13dpo... am I definitely out??

Hello!!

Cycle 3 TTC number 1.

Ovulated day CD 15, af cramps 9dpo&10dpo and had a tiny bit of brown blood when wiping 12dpo. Tested this morning and BFN. A stark white one at that 🤣.

Surely if I was pregnant it would show on a test by now?

Hi OP. Some tests don't show this early as you need to give your body time for the HCG levels to be high enough. Which tests have you used? I suggest an early detection one like clear blue. Good luck!

How did you confirm ovulation?

If you're definitely 13DPO and if you're using a sensitive/early response test then you would expect to see a hint of a line if using FMU. However you're never out unless your period arrives.

A tiny bit of blood on day 12po could be implantation, in which case you ovulated later. Also if it is implantation bleeding it won't show on a test for approx 5 days from that point. You are never out until AF shows so certainly wait for that before you write yourself off.

I actually haven’t been temping (I know that is the only reliable way) but CB and OPK confirmed my LH rise but actually you made me think back and I thought I ovulated on the Sunday (peak on Sat) but actually had painful ov pains on the Monday so wondering if I ovulated a day or so later than I though.

That would make me 13dpo with spotting 11dpo and af pains 9&10dpo. But still BFN 🤣😭

Unfortunately although you're not out I'd expect AF in the next day or two by the sounds of it if you ovulated when you think you did.

On the plus side that a lovely healthy 13 day luteal phase and it sounds like you read your ovulation signs perfectly so you can be pretty confident next month when you're testing.
