Implantation or chemical pregnancy?

Hi everyone,

I wondered if anyone else could tell me of any experience of implantation bleeding and what it was like?

I am due to start my period in two days. I’m normally pretty regular, sometimes a couple of days late if anything, never early. I would of ovulated around the 8th I don’t track it properly just use an app for a near enough date.

A couple of days ago I had some spotting. Assumed period was on its way. Yesterday I woke up with the urge to test. Just had a feeling. Tried an early strip test came up as a positive, not particularly dark but definitely there. Also did a clear blue which came up as a slightly darker positive. Assumed the spotting must of been implantation. But today I have started spotting again 😕 Took another test this afternoon, still positive, but lighter. Assuming/hoping it’s because it wasn’t fmu and I had drank a lot of water today.

I had a miscarriage earlier this year and can’t help but assume the worst, I didn’t have any implantation bleeding then so have nothing to compare it to.

Am I out or is there still a chance 😔?

Thank you if anyone replies.

Hi @PenelopePollet If you were only just going through implantation now then your tests wouldn't be showing positive, its much more likely therefore that you are pregnant. Your most recent test was taken in the afternoon, perhaps take another when you wake up using FMU and see if it is any darker then. Good luck x

I’m going to do what I should of done to begin with and wait and see if Aunt Flo turns up. And not test again until I’m actually late. I should be able to see a difference in colour by then I would think (whether it’s good or bad news)

Spotting is very sporadic. I have no cramps and none of my usual periody type feelings. I will just have to wait a couple of days I guess.

Thank you for replying!

Goodluck @PenelopePollet , every body is different so you can never tell until your period arrives xx

What was the 'spotting' like a few days ago? Just when wiping? Did you need a pad/pantyliner?

I've noticed implantation in 2 of my 3 pregnancies. (Unfortunately, they all ended in MC, but much later on for different reasons). Both times, it was a tiny, 2mm speck on toilet paper. 1st was pink and the 2nd more yellowy/brown. Nothing on underwear, nothing heavier, no cramps that I recall either. Just the single, speck each time.

I agree with testing again, but hard to say at this stage what is going on. best of luck xxx

@Elouera Thank you for telling me what it was like, I know it’s probably different for everyone but it helps to give me a bit of comparison. I’m sorry for your losses also.

The first time I noticed it it was almost like the smallest speck of old blood in my underwear. Nothing when I wiped. A few hours later I noticed the palest of pink discharge. The next day it stopped. And then yesterday and today it’s been back to pale pink discharge, only when I wipe. And not every time either. The first day I immediately put a pad on to try and monitor it but nothing there, neither has there been anything on my pants since.

I’m due on tomorrow so I’m going to try not to test straight away and wait until I’m atleast a day late. A couple of days if I can resist the temptation Blush

@Kay00 Thank you for the luck.
