Positive OPK after BBT rise?? I'm confused!

I'm so confused!!!
So my OPK showed peak on CD 12 but I have a dip in BBT on CD9? Temps are rising but slowly. Is this an anovulatory cycle perhaps? OPK shows a clear positive but temps are not indicating ovulation. I need help from any charters out there!!!Sad

Looks like your temp shift might be CD15, but need a couple more high temps to confirm. I get a shift usually 1-2 days after positive OPK.

Juno231 · 18/08/2020 12:59

You look like you have some abnormally low temps around CD8/9 that might be skewing things. I think carry on temping and it will make sense. With a peak opk on CD12 you could have ovulated on CD14 and your temp shift starting on CD15.

What temp range do you usually have in your LP? I would not expect your CD12-CD14 to have been your temp shift as those are still very low for post OD temps tbh.

I'm quite a newbie to temping tbh! I've attached my only other chart which was a couple of months ago @Juno231 . I had a textbook shift day of positive OPK - that's why this one is confusing me? I'm 41, no surviving children and 5 previous miscarriages so I want to get this right. DH and I on different work patterns this month which has really screwed things over when TTC!

@NoCallerID I'll make sure and keep temping and see if I can confirm things from there. Thank you for your advice. It all gets a bit confusing after a while!

I think the missing temps in your current chart is what's making it look like a temp shift before the positive OPK, but I think that's cause your CD9 temp is a bit misleading and it would look better overall had you had all temps logged.

What's your temp like today? Your previous chart was pretty textbook and I see you ovulated on CD15 then!

Sorry to hear about your losses - are they being investigated at all?

Leezo · 19/08/2020 10:35

@Juno231 yes the missing temps are a definite issue - I had jumped up and went to the bathroom before I realized and figured it was best to miss a temp rather than log an inaccurate one - it's starting to become natural reaching for the thermometer now so fingers crossed I'll not fall into that trap again! Yes I'm with a recurrent miscarriage specialist but as I'm from Northern Ireland and over 40 he has done all they can and just said contact them if I'm pregnant again and they would take it from there. I have hypothyroidism which is being treated with levothyrixine daily and a little Vit D deficient so I'm taking supplements for that. Other than that both DH and I are pretty healthy and no reasons have been found for the miscarriages. We did decide to have the last LO tested as I had a vacuum aspiration and the remains could be collected. It showed Trisomy 21. DH and I both had genetic testing and we've come back clear so consultant has put it down to one of those things unfortunately. Really I would say my eggs are
not great quality because if my age so I want to throw everything at this as I'm pretty sure I'm running out of time. Temp this morning was 36.30 same as yesterday Sad
If it doesn't rise do you reckon I'm looking at an anovulatory cycle?

Leezo · 19/08/2020 10:38

@Juno231 apologies that should have read Trisomy 22

@Leezo are you taking ubiquinol to improve egg quality?

Maybe not anovulatory but just not ovulated yet. Hopefully you'll get another peak soon, some ladies have multiple surges and if you had a CP last cycle then it would be normal for your cycle to be slightly odd this time.

Leezo · 19/08/2020 11:34

@Juno231 no I'm not taking anything at the moment for egg quality - my consultant is a bit of a straight talker and said there is not enough evidence to prove Ubiquinol does anything - I tried to push it but he was adamant that research may show COq10 can preserve egg health but not improve it, when the damage is done it's done really. I'm willing to try anything to be honest - last year I spent a fortune on Ubiquinol, royal jelly etc but I found it did strange things to my follicular phase and I was having very strange cycles so stopped. I had a very early cp back in March, that was the last chart I posted but nothing since. I guess I just keep OPK IMG and see what happens? CM gas also dried up which makes me believe I've either had a wee sneaky early ovulation or indeed it anovulatory
