High temp day of AF

My temperature normally dips the day before my period so I know it's always coming. I'm normally 28 days and like clockwork so I was surprised when AF didn't show like normal this morning. I really want to wait until I'm officially late to test but I can't help noticing my temperature is 37.8! Could this be a sign of early pregnancy?
It normally goes back to 36. something the day before I'm due so can't help obsessing! Anyone else had this before? I know I should just poas but 1. I don't have any and 2. I don't want to be disappointed.
Any stories would be amazing

Hi @overthinker76
Is 37.8 normal for you in the luteal phase?

overthinker76 · 01/08/2020 13:20

@Nazz10 yes but not at this stage! X

@overthinker76 as a nurse, I would say that's low grade pyrexia and you have an infection/virus brewing 😂 but if that's normal for you then that's obviously not the case.

Maybe see what your temp is tomorrow and if still high then take a test!!

I'm definitely not a HCP but I thought the same about a reading of 37.8. But if you regularly see that then I guess that's normal.

How many DPO are you, most people that go on to get a BFP get it by 12DPO so you're probably safe to test?

Just wanted to add that normally the variation in cycle length comes from ovulation day changing, not a change in your luteal phase. So if you know you ovulated on the same day as usual then your period should be due on the same day as usual.

That makes it extra promising if your temp hasn't dropped like it usually would.

Good luck 😊

It was a spike in temperature that prompted me to take a pregnancy test. Like you, my BBT would drop before AF arrived.

Temperature stayed high as I was indeed pregnant.

This was my chart, the green raised temperatures were after confirmed positive pregnancy test.

In the months I didn't get BFP, temperature would plummet sharply.

My temp is still high. Started feeling extremely sick today and completely off food. Even opening the fridge makes me wretch. I took a test and it's negative. But I did stupidly take it after I had had a lot of water so my urine is really diluted. Should I wait to take another first thing in the morning?

Have you got a copy of your graph available that you could post?

It's definitely possible that your urine was too diluted.

@overthinker76
Mine would also always dip before period but last month didn’t and I was pregnant xx

overthinker76 · 02/08/2020 15:44

I don't actually use a graph! I just use the notes in my phone to chart. Pretty sure I just got a squinter on another test but not enough to show in a photo! Will try again in the morning if AF doesn't show. Thanks so much for your replies, will keep you updated

Could you copy your temps into a post on here if you think it could be useful to get another pair of eyes on them?
