Advice from ladies who have gotten pregnant using OPK tests

Hi there,

So I’ve been using OPK tests without any luck since Feb 2020. I was just wondering if any ladies who have been successful with opk tests could share when they had sex in relation to a positive OPK test i.e before or after?
Basically I’m asking because my husband isn’t the type who wants sex every day and it’s challenging sometimes to get him in the mood when we need to. So I’m wondering if I should wait until I get my positive OPK before initiating sex as having sex before hasn’t worked so far or could I miss the boat if I wait until my positive?

For 3 months we timed it to have sex on the peak day. 4th month it wasn’t convenient and the closest we could was the day before and the day after. That’s the one that worked. But I don’t know which one did the trick!

2 days before ovulation gives u the highest chance of conception as it ensures the sperm are ready and waiting in the tube for the egg to be released! I’ve been pregnant 4 times this year and always only had sex around 2/3 times over ovulation the months I got BFP and always aimed for 2 or 1 days before.

I followed the SMEP plan and it worked twice - sadly both of these pregnancies were ectopic, but it's a very clear straightforward way of making sure you don't miss your window

Oh interesting.. what is the SMEP plan I haven’t heard of it?

I just googled it! Sounds good but I doubt I could get hubby to have sex that often tbh! Maybe I’ll aim for the 3 days from when I get my positive opk though!
