Has anyone experience of laparoscopy and pregnancy after?

I'm going in for a laparoscopy on Wednesday, to treat what my gynae doctor thinks is most likely endometriosis (although I'm 33 and never had any trouble before)
I have 3 kids and trying to conceive number 4.
Does anyone have any experience of laparoscopy and just going through it in general and also getting pregnant after? Did it help?
Many thanks

Hi,

I had a lap a couple of months before I convinced my first to treat endometriosis.

All went well.

If its endo, statistically you're more likely to conceive in the 3-4 months after than any other point.

If it's endo though, ask that it's actually removed - some surgeons actually only confirm rather than treat as well! And depending on severity, it's sometimes worth being properly treated before ttc.

I'm 25 and went for a laparoscopy to diagnose and treat endometriosis last year.
Everything went well, the worst part of the recovery is the gas pains afterwards so stock up on tablets like Windeze to help and peppermint tea can also help with the trapped gas.

I had never been pregnant before but I do also have PCOS but the endometriosis was the main issue, the PCOS sort of comes and goes.

I'm now 10 weeks pregnant and I do think the laparoscopy has everything to do with that. It still took 7 months of trying afterwards and after about 5 months my old endo pains etc did start to come back but it's different for everybody.

Good luck though I'm sure everything will be fine!

Thank you everyone, hopefully I'll be fine 😬

Hiya, I have had 4 laps now for Endometriosis. My second lap was Oct 2015 and I fell pregnant in Dec 2015 my beautiful daughter is now coming up 4. Fingers crossed you get your Endo helped and you manage to conceive quickly after 😀
