Positive on Sainsbury's blue dye tests. 8dpo. Evap?!

Anyone else got a false positive on a blue dye test? What do they look like? I got a tiny dot at the start of a line on a pink eye test too right in the corner at 7dpo but thinking both will be false positives, just on account of it being early.

Can't post photos yet. I only created an account yesterday lunch time. Not sure how long I need to wait to post pictures

You can put a photo up after 48hrs.
I would say if you got a slight positive on 2 different test then you probably are pregnant. I would leave it a few more days and test again.

Cheesewiz · 11/07/2020 19:32

I have had a false positive on blue dye, I have the coil so had a blood test the next day and it was negative. Maybe try waiting to 12 dpo and re test with a pink dye test.

48hrs! Thought it was 24. I've got a couple of frers so might try one tomorrow at 10dpo. It's very confusing though. I thought it would be that any line was positive, until I found out evap lines were a thing! I did leave the second test about 10 mins Hmm

I don't think I've ever heard of someone getting a positive that early. Technically the egg doesn't implant until between 5-10dpo so 8dpo is extremely early for a positive.
I would wait a few days and test.

I initially had negatives at 9,10,11dpo.. and then got a slight positive at 12dpo.

Retest in a few days

Blue dyes are really bad for evaps.id say you aren't out yet but most implantation only happens at 8 or 9dpo. If you can wait till day 14 it's usually picked up on most tests by then, or try with a FRER in a few days if you can't wait quite that long!

Ive been having shorter luteal the last 2 months after coming of the pill 4 months ago. At least it's looking like I'll make it to at least day 10 or 11 this time before AF, if I'm not pregnant! Gotta look on the bright side I guess. Really wanna post the photo of this test. It's pretty confusing!

I got a strong positive at 9DPO with my first, so figure I probably would have had a faint positive at 8DPO if I'd tested. Could be! Good luck for tomorrow

ivfdreaming · 11/07/2020 21:49

I wouldn't trust them this early - it's almost impossible to get a BFP on those tests this early as pretty sure the hcg threshold is either 15 or 25 unless your carrying triplets!

CycleGirl20 · 11/07/2020 21:55

Oh gosh... Triplets Blush. My OH did say he wants 3, but at 34 it might be a bit late for that, unless it is triplets Grin

I've had loads of evaps on Sainsbury's tests, sorry. The test should be discarded and ignored when the leaflet instructs

CycleGirl20 · 12/07/2020 08:26

So I just restested with a frer and have a thin pink line. I am going to caveat that by saying I still think you're absolutely right - the other line is probably an evap. My frer line is so light it could only be just implanted. Fingers crossed it's a sticky one!

The clearest thing you can do is take a digital! When you see it is words it's pretty final that's the result!

CycleGirl20 · 13/07/2020 18:47

Thought I'd post my picture now it'll let me! 4 positive tests in, progressing from the left one that's barely a smudge 3 days ago and probably invisible in the picture, second left the possible evap line, 3rd the frer which has a more obvious pink line in real life but it seems the blue dye shows up best in photos, and one I did just now. Bit of line progression so that's nice.

I'd keep testing for a few days with your first wee of the day. I'd also try out a digital! Good luck OP hope you get your BFP x
