Faint positive FRER after MMC?

Sorry it's a bit of a long one.....I had a MMC at the start of June - about 5 weeks ago. I bled for two weeks and shortly after started doing OPKs again. We DTD in what was supposedly the fertile window. I then had a bit of light red bleeding over a couple days.

Now (about 5 weeks after I started to miscarry)I have a faint line on a FRER. I am 10 DPO today - assuming I did actually ovulate, as I have no idea what my body is up to post-MMC and how long it will take to start ovulating again. I was assuming I wouldn't fall the first month. I've had very faint lines today and yesterday, neither with FMU. They haven't got stronger.

I have no idea whether to start feeling a bit excited or whether, since I had the second light bleed, I've probably retained something from the MMC and my body still has a little pregnancy hormone which is showing up on the tests.

I guess I just test again in a day or two and if the lines don't get any darker I'll have to go to the early pregnancy unit to see whether there's anything retained from the MMC. It's a weird feeling, it's usually the best feeling to see the faint line but I just feel confused. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts?

Did you test after 3 weeks to check it was negative?
I had my miscarriage 3 weeks ago and I had to test yesterday and I’m still getting positive tests!
I had to phone EPAU and tell them, they will take bloods and do another scan next week if I’m still getting positive tests.
In your case could be retained products or a new pregnancy. I would give your Epau a call and see if you can get your bloods done 48 hours apart, if it is going up then a new pregnancy.

Could be either, new pregnancy or leftover hormone unless you had a definite negative before starting ttc again.

How far along were you when you mc? I had a mc in January and should have been 9 weeks along. It took nearly 6 weeks for my hcg levels to fall back to zero. After 5 weeks of positives they finally did blood tests and confirmed the hcg was falling, just slowly.
I was told the further along you were at the time of mc the longer it can take for hcg to drop.

I’d give the EPAU a call and explain. I’m sure they’ll arrange for you to have blood tests done.

Good luck

I had a MMC with D&C in late Dec, just before Christmas. I was pregnant again with a positive test by January with DS, now 13. So you could definitely be pregnant.

Thank you all. I did have a negative pregnancy test after 3 weeks - but I wasn't looking for a line if you know what I mean? I think I was expecting not to see one so I didn't scrutinise it at every angle like I am atm - I expect hope is giving me bad line eyes! I don't think it necessarily means there wasn't the same faint one as now. It took me a long time to get pregnant previously and I remember scrutinising tests every month at different angles and in different lights. They were never positive but I convinced myself there was something on so many occasions! We should buy shares in FRERs.

The line is sooo faint this morning with FMU, so no progression over 3 days. I think it's probably something retained/ falling HCG levels. I don't think you can call our EPU, you just have to go in and I might try to arrange for some childcare next week and go in. By then maybe AF will have come anyway.....

Sorry I was 9 weeks along but the baby was measuring smaller and then the heartbeat stopped. It was about 6 weeks in size
