Spotting several days before period? Does it affect ttc?

I came off the pill in January so things should be pretty much back to normal now. Started ttc #1 3 months ago. I would usually get 1 day with a little brown spotting before my period but the last 2-3 cycles I’ve had up to 5 days of cramping and spotting before.

Last cycle I had 2 days of cramping then 5 days of spotting before 4 days very light AF
This cycle I tracked ovulation and measured temperature and looks like I ovulated cd14 (tiny amount spotting then). I then cramped 2 and 3 dpo with spotting on 3 dpo. This then settled and now I have had spotting 8 and 9 dpo (today) light yesterday but a little more red today only on toilet roll. Don’t think it’s implantation as it seems exactly the same as last month.

Googled lots of possible causes, low progesterone etc and wondered if anyone else had had the same and then go on to get a BFP. Is it worth speaking to the doctor to see about getting anything checked. Given fact only been trying 3 months I don’t want to waste their time but I’m 38 and very conscious of that too.

I used to spot for 2-3 days before AF and I had a couple of months of spotting that occured with ovulation (completely normal)1, I'm now 13+5 and fell pregnant on our 3rd month of trying, I read spotting can be normal but if it's actual bleeding mid cycle then it is something that needs to be investigated x

Thanks. It is just spotting, not enough to show on a liner but it is about 5 days long. I guess I’ll give things time and see what happens

I'd heard it could be due to low progesterone.
Fertility is very complex. On paper I shouldn't have had my DS. PCOS, no periods for a year at a time, then after taking Metformin I lost a tube to an ectopic pregnancy. Three months later my one tube worked and I now have a son. I still can't believe it happened, the odds were so against me.

Basically don't worry yet. You seem to have the odds in your favour. But no harm in seeing the GP.

Thank you. I’ll wait until af arrives then I’ll maybe see if I can get a phone consult with the gp just to discuss things I think. I hate bothering them if it’s nothing, especially just now but I don’t want to leave it in case it is something like progesterone and it could be easily fixed?
