Positive First Response the day before period but negative hcg strips??

Hi All,

I don’t want to get too excited yet but had a BFP with a first response test today, my af is due tomorrow but all my HCG test strips are negative. Anyone had this??

Hi, I don’t think the HCG strips are as sensitive as the first response tests so that is probably why. You should get a positive on the strips as your HCG levels rise. Congratulations 😊

Is this the first day you have tested? Or where u getting negatives on a frer before today?

First response always shows a positive before any other brand in my experience! Fingers crossed for you

Thank you ladies!! I took the femometer hcg strips the last couple of days and they were all negative. Due to start AF tomorrow but i sometimes starts a day or two late so don’t want to get too excited yet. Going to take another tomorrow and if fingers crossed I get another bfp then I will get a clear blue test :)

Fingers crossed. I’m due af Monday or Tuesday. All my tests where negative up until Wednesday so I stopped testing and am going to take a test tomorrow. Fingers crossed for us both

Hey ladies, just an update. 5 or so tests later I have had the second line appear clear as day. Sometimes my period could be a day or two late so I’m hoping AF doesn’t appear. I have cramping but nothing as painful as AF so fingers crossed. @2020wish hope you had some good news xx

I tested positive with a dark line on each test, AF is 3 days late.

@Ella17393 ah brilliant! Congratulations! I've also done 3x strip tests all negative. Due on 25th so going to hold off till Friday but maybe do a proper test if you don't think they work well. Did you try one now?
