Spotting before AF - any success stories?

Hi

I usually spot 4ish days before AF, my doctors knows this and doesn’t seem to be bothered about it. Has anyone managed to get their BFP who also spotted before periods? I’m worried that this could be a problem, I’ve had 21 day bloods done and they were fine.
This is my 9th cycle TTC :(

I spotted before periods and still got my bfp (miscarried but that is unrelated as it was at 11.5 weeks)

Currently ttc again and also concerned about the spotting!

Thanks for replying and sorry to hear that. I just didn’t know if it could be a factor for not being successful yet. If you don’t mind me asking did you spot the cycle you got your bfp?

@timetotry123 no I didn't have any spotting at all the month I conceived and no bleeding throughout pregnancy. I conceived after 4 months and now onto cycle 7 after miscarriage so getting a bit frustrated now!

Best of luck to you!

Thank you and you too I’m sure it won’t be long now :)

I also spot too and TTC #1. I've been to SO many doctors both NHS and private who also do not seemed concerned with this.

I think it is normal to spot before and after. I spot for 3ish sometimes 4 days. I haven't read anything that it should effect TTC.

I hope you get your BFP soon! X

I have been known to spot from day 2-3DPO on occasion.
I've had once chemical pregnancy (I've got 2 DC from years ago, before the spotting issue) since. I don't think I spotted threat cycle but then started a few days after the BFP and it was downhill from there!
My day 21 progesterone level was always borderline. The Gp couldn't have cared less. It was only through seeing a fertility clinic did I get progesterone pessaries to try. This month is the first month so I will see if it makes any difference.
As the fertility chap said - the more lining that falls out through spotting the less there is to implant into. Simplistic explanation but makes sense.

I've always had spotting in the days leading up to AF. I had one very early miscarriage, but then got BFP the following month. I still had spotting the month I got BFP and had a few bleeds throughout the first trimester... Not sure if there was any link though

I usually spot 4-5 days before AF and the month I conceived i started spotting the same time as usual (bright red as well) and then it tailed off after a couple of days which is what made me test

Timetotry123 · 15/06/2020 19:35

Thank you for your replies, it’s reassuring to know you can still have a successful pregnancy when you are prone to spotting, it makes sense that you lose lining through spotting and it can make implantation for difficult, it’s never very heavy usually only brown when I wipe sorry tmi :-/ last month was weird tho 9dpo I had bright red when I wiped once which I thought was maybe a good sign but then it turned to spotting and af turned up on time grrr. It’s a waiting game :-(

@Timetotry123 exactly the same happened to me! I thought this could be BFP but it was AF :(. It's like when you're TTC your mind plays tricks on you and you experience something different but still turns out to be AF. Tbh I don't really know how to reduce the spotting as I've had it for as long as I can remember.

I always get brown spotting too. Hoping for our BFP's really soon Smile

Timetotry123 · 15/06/2020 21:18

I definitely think that too, then when my spotting appears I try to convince myself it’s implantation bleeding.... nightmare lol!! Hope you get your bfp soon :)

I religiously spot for a few days before I get my full flow every cycle, it's really annoying but no medical professional I've raised this with seems concerned. Even when it's brown spotting too 😔
