Very near positive OPK then negative 5 hours later?

So this is my first month trying OPK. After 6 months with no success. I have a pretty reliable 36 day cycle. So this morning (09.30am) , I was nearly negative. This afternoon (2.30pm) it was nearly nearly it positive, if not positive. Great, I’ll test again tonight and get my positive, however just now (7.15ish) and it’s back to negative! More lighter than this am!

Can your LH surge really last 5 hours? Is it possible my body geared up to ovulate but now isn’t??

can’t confirm with temps as only doing OPK at the moment, will move to temps if this doesn’t work.

(I’ve included pictures of this am (first) this afternoon (second) and this evening (last) does this happen often? Has it happened to you? I’m convinced I’m broken :(

Don't worry I wouldn't call that near-positive, mine often look like that then go negative before later getting a positive, it's not always going darker in a straight line. I've had 14 months of doing OPKS so I've got a bit of experience with them! Keep testing at least twice a day x

Yes, the surge we managed to catch was quite short. I only caught it by chance as I decided to do a random extra test that day. Our baby is due next week so don't lose hope!

Try the pre-mom app. You take pictures of your OPKs and it helps log your peak. I found it really useful.

Thanks everyone, just hoping that wasn’t it and I haven’t missed my LH surge? Or worse, not ovulating :( BD on Wednesday and will do tonight (Friday) lets hope I wake up tomorrow with a blazing positive and some answers x
