Hi so I have a 15 week old atm and I may be pregnant again AF resumed on the 23rd and is then due again on the 18th. We discussed having another fairly soon but now that there's a real chance that it's happened I'm worrying about the age gap. How will I cope? Has anyone else had a pregnancy this soon after giving birth and how did you find it? So as not to drip feed I have a 5 soon to be 6 year old as well.

I can’t provide any answers from a personal perspective as I just have the one DS who’s 17 month. I do however know 3 girls...
Girl 1 - DS then fell pregnant when he was 11 month, 4 months into 2nd pregnancy, DP cheats and leaves never to be seen again. I felt terrible for her at the start but she has blossomed and I think she is truly happy and loving life albeit a bit stressed sometimes.
Girl 2 - is about to labour DS3, she will then have 3 DS under 3. She copes fine though they drive her up the wall some days but she says she likes the constant go go go of it all and will be having another ASAP in hope for a DD. So I guess 3 under 3 isn’t enough to put her off 🤣.
Girl 3 - is the craziest.... 6YO DS, 2YO twin DS, 1YO DS, an angel baby DS and is 30 week with another but not finding out the sex this time. I only really know her on social media so what I see could be just what she wants people to see although she does tend to share the good the bad and the ugly, in honesty it looks like chaos, never a dull moment BUT i almost feel jealous, I think I’d love lots of teeny babas all at once! What I do think though is, if you are, and it might seem like HOW AM I GOING TO DO THIS!? -You will do it. Because you have to for them and you’ll do a fab job! Best of luck OP x

If I am pregnant the baby will be due not even a week after my 15 week olds first birthday. We want another and figured the sooner the better but expected it to take a few months for my periods to settle into a cycle again

We had 2 very close together. It was very hard and I don't remember as much as I would like as it's full on but it's great now. 7and 6. Best friends Smile

Thanks for responding so soon it's made me feel better. I suppose I'm more worried about what others would say or think but then again it's not their life.

Correct OP, your life not theirs. Although I do understand where you are coming from. I feel if I had done the same, I’d have been nervous to hear my families reaction but in honesty, the 3 girls I wrote about, not once did I judge it or think too soon, I actually felt a bit sad that that wasn’t me and I enjoy hearing about them. I hope you let us know the outcome :)

Don't worry about it. It'll be fine if you were already up for 2 in quick succession😁.... I think first year or so with both will be hard work, like with twins, but when older it'll be great. Best pals!
I struggle with baby stage so for me this would be terrible but I'd never judge... More likely be impressed!

At least they won't be either end of the same school year... I always think that raises some amused eyebrows!

Butterbeeeen · 10/06/2020 21:29

I had 2 in a year and a 4 year old. Bloody hard work at the time but would do it again in a heartbeat. Best stupid thing I ever did (and it was planned).

tinatsarina · 11/06/2020 00:18

Thanks everyone. It's nice to know people have managed. I like the idea of organized chaos I have a niece 10 weeks younger than my baby so all three could be best buddies. I'll test on the 18th to see if im Right

I have 13 months between my first two. Then we had a third when they were 1 and 2. You will be fine. Get a good double pram and ignore the naysayers

Pipandmum · 11/06/2020 01:19

I know a couple people who have kids one year apart (one with an older child, the other went on to have a third). You just get on with it. Hard, but doable.
What's really impressive is I know someone who had identical triplet boys. And then had a girl two years later. I said she must feel invincible. Or mad. She said it depends on the day....

Natashabobasha1 · 11/06/2020 01:37

You'll be fine! Have FUN in the exhaustion. My aunt had two
..Irish twins...
They were poor, exhausted and resentful parents for a while.
Now, they're rich, well travelled and best friends in marriage! Their kids are smart and well rounded. I hope you have a good partner to weather the storm.

Natashabobasha1 · 11/06/2020 01:38

The kids are in their mid 20s now.
