Periods not lasting as long as they used to?

Hi girls,
Looking for some advice please ? We have been TTC for 1 year and 3 months.
My cycle is every 28 days and I have always had heavy periods, to the point where I had to wear a tampon and a pad.
Recently my period is lasting 3 days with day 4 spotting and not as heavy as they used to be.
AF arrived on Sunday (gutted) and it has lasted one day and a half ! Is this normal?
I am 34, my mum went through menopause at 39, her mum also went through it in her 30’s and now I’m scared that I will be the same.

I am thinking of going private on TTC journey as I don’t want to hang around any longer and wait on NHS timescales, they aren’t referring anyone at the moment due to the circumstances.
Has anyone went private ?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Xx

Hi, we're just bumping this thread in case anyone's around with some advice for the OP.

With your family history, it might be wise to see a specialist, for even a simple blood test for hormones. Even if you have to go private. Shorter periods could be due to a number of things, such as changing hormones, thyroid issues, inadequate vitamin levels, or something as simple as lack of exercise. Without a blood test it's impossible to know for sure.

Apparently covid is having an affect on periods. I completely slipped having a period at all in May. So I would assume it's stress etc.
