SMEP with short cycles - what day to start?

Hi ladies,

I'd like to try SMEP but my cycles are usually 24 or 26 days. The rules are based on 28 days so I'm not sure what day we need to start DTD on.

Could anyone help me out please? Currently on CD7 Smile

Hi, I also have a 26 day cycle! Do you know what day you ovulate?

HellloBambinos · 03/06/2020 21:46

@Tinker315b my Flo app says I will ovulate this month on CD11 Smile

@HellloBambinos Do you know when you ovulate or how long your luteal phase is?

If you ovulate early I'd probably suggest starting on CD6 and then every other day until the peak LH test, then the 3 in a row and miss a day!

@Helllobambinos Sometimes the apps aren't accurate as they don't take into consideration your LP with short cycles. I ovulate quite late on CD15 but my LP is only 10 days! I know it can be a bit of a pain but taking your bbt really helps indicate your ovulation day!

@LottieX I assumed it was between 13 and 15 days based on my flo ovulation date but this is my first month using OPKs so I will hopefully find out for certain. Off I go to seduce DH then!

@Tinker315b that's a good point actually thanks, I always assumed I just ov'd early but maybe I'm the same as you with a short LP. Yes definitely think I will buy a thermometer asap - to think I thought it would just be as simple as having sex!

@HellloBambinos 🤣 if only it was that simple! Good luck 😁

@Tinker315b thank you, you as well (assuming you are TTC too!)
