Hi,

I have my first appointment with GP tomorrow after TTC for 11 months.

Here's some information -
Mid 30s
Healthy weight range (if not at lower end)
Exercise a little every week. Not intense
Stressed
Breastfeeding toddler morning and before bed. Two brief feeds.
Periods returned 4 months PP and range from 30-38 days
Follicular phase of cycle seems to be getting gradually longer. Currently CD 25 with no Ovulation
Conceived child one on second month of TTC
We have regular sex guided by ovulation and I track temp so using born indicators I am confident I am having sex pre, on ov and a day or two post ov every month

What is the DR likely to recommend?
Any tips in the meantime?
Thanks

A desperate, pretty depressed Mum feeling the pressure for baby two and to provide a much much longed for sibling

Doctor will recommend blood tests, I think day 21 of your cycle to check if you are ovulating.

Thanks Nat, that's helpful. I am quietly confident that I am as I use ovulation test and also track temperature. But obviously happy to follow process and if I'm wrong then there's my answer!

I feel that the issue is that I am ovulating, but that my follicular phase is so long it means my egg quality may be bad?!

So frustrating

I spoke to a GP on the phone and she said the first step is a Day 21 progesterone test to check if you have ovulated, and a semen analysis for the man.

That's so much for responding.

If I ovulate but it's later than day 21 is the answer medication goes get me to ovulate earlier?

Hey I don't have much more to add but just wanted to say I don't think there's anything wrong with a long follicular phase? Reading up on it online anyway doesn't mention anything about longer follicular phases affecting fertility so just wanted to give you some small peace of mind!

Btw after a day 21 test they might do a day 3 test to measure various hormone levels as well :) If everything comes back fine they might do a hycosy test after that, but not sure if they do it if it's for a second pregnancy.

In the meantime, if you feel your cycles are longish and irregular you can start taking Agnus Castus perhaps to try and regulate your cycles?
