13dpo- is this a line??

Hi all,
Driving myself crazy here. Used a frer yesterday at 12dpo and again this morning at 13dpo. Can anyone else see a line or is it just wishful thinking?

I can see a line but it's very faint for 13dpo. Does it have colour to it? And did it come up within the time frame allowed?

Thanks for replying. It def has some pink to it in real life and came up within about 2 mins. AF due tomorrow so will try and resist testing again until Saturday if it hasn’t arrived. Should a positive line at 13dpo be stronger?

It's hard to see if there's colour but that looks like an early positive to me. Definitely retest tomorrow but I'd say it's at least hopeful.

Also with early testing, even if you're sure of ovulation day, the darkness of the line can still be really variable depending on the test itself, how concentrated your pee is and the timing of when actual implantation happened so I wouldn't necessarily be too worried about that part.

When I've tested at 13dpo and it's been positive it's always been stronger, HOWEVER I've only ever got a bfp after IVF so dates are absolutely certain. You could have ovulated/implanted later. Definitely wait to miss your period then test again. Good luck!

I never did get a positive on frer until a few days late although I got clear positives on clear blue and clear blue digital 13dpo. Strange I know but looks positive to me and going from
My pick below that were all taken on 13dpo in same sample show that frer can’t always be reliable. All where all different batches that I sent Dh out to get more off so I could make sure lol

How are you tracking your ovulation?

I would personally be very excited if I had a test that looked like that :) xx

@peperethecat to be honest I haven’t really been tracking ovulation...AF has only really come back regularly after years of being on mini pill in last couple of months or so.

@raspberryjamlove I’m tentatively excited but nervous in case AF comes in next couple of days...

OK, it looks like a very early positive but it should be much darker than that if you are genuinely 13 DPO. For now I would tentatively assume that you ovulated a few days later than you think you did.

You can implant up to anything up to 12dpo so some people wouldn't get a BFP at 13dpo anyway!

I think the 12 DPO thing is largely a myth. In reality anything that implants 11 DPO or later is likely to miscarry, unfortunately.

Most people with ongoing viable pregnancies who reckon they didn't get a positive test until their period was late are wrong about when they ovulated.

Sorry, I know it's not what people want to hear but it does appear to be true in my experience.

@peperethecat. Thanks for your insight. I am only guessing 13dpo, using a calculator based on my lmp. In reality i have no clue when ovulation occured as only 2nd month trying and not been tracking. Guess I’m not out til AF makes an appearance..

How long have you been TTC? Have you recently come off hormonal contraception? If you've recently come off the pill or similar than your cycles may still be regulating. And even if you have an extremely regular cycle, if you're not tesing for ovulation you don't know whether you're ovulating on CD14 and have a 14 day luteal phase, or ovulating on CD18 and have a 10 day luteal phase, or what have you. For now I would just assume that you ovulated a few days later than you thought and that's why you've only got a faint line. Test again in a few days and see if the line is darker.

So, AF due today but no sign as of yet. Did another FRER just now and this was the result....do I take this as a positive? Should the line be darker at this stage??

If you're not tracking ovulation you don't actually know how many DPO you are, so I wouldn't worry about that. The line is definitely getting darker which is a good sign!

I don’t ovulate until cycle day 17+ so you could ovulate late and not know. That’s a good positive for before AF being due.
