12dpo - BFN - anyone gone on to get a positive from here?

Hi all,

I’m new to this - this month I ovulated on 2nd May (according to Clue) and then did the deed the day after. I’m now 12dpo and my period is due today/tomorrow.

I took a test this afternoon (a cheap one over here in the UAE - AME SmartCheck) which came back as negative. The test didn’t specify at all how early it can detect pregnancy, so I thought I’d try today, given my symptoms and the fact my period is due today/tomorrow.

For the last few days I’ve had lots of early symptoms - waves of nausea, headache, cramping, heartburn and really gassy. These have been coming and going - I’ve also had a sore lower back too. Normally before my period I’ll get cramps the day I’m going to start, so the cramping as well as everything else is extremely out of character.

If I were to be pregnant would I have had a positive (even just a slight line)?

Has anyone had similar symptoms/similar timeline to me and then gone on to get a positive?

We do have other tests here in the UAE, but a clear blue digital costs the equivalent of £25 in British money, so I’m trying to hold off on getting one of these unless worst comes to worst as you can imagine haha! What’s people’s experience of cheaper tests?

Thanks in advance!
