Can I get pregnant naturally at 44?

Hello!

I have a DD, aged 5, conceived very easily when I was 38. Since then 2 miscarriages and nothing else. Although sex a bit patchy (ie limited)

We are considering trying again, and I am turn 44 next month. We are not sure we want to try IVF plus at my age chances are limited.

I guess I'm asking whether anyone out there has conceived naturally at 43/44 and what outcome was?

Is it possible, yes - my younger sister is the result of a natural pregnancy at 44. However, that it's possible for other women may not mean it's possible for you. And tbh to have only conceived twice in six years of (presumably) unprotected sex, and neither pregnancy to be viable, does not bode particularly well. If you really want another child, you are likely to need IVF with donor eggs.

You’ll get lots of anecdotal stories on here but that won’t affect the overall statistics-you’re far better off looking at that kind of factual population level information. Bluntly your chances are very slim but it isn’t impossible, with a high chance of miscarriage. No one can really tell you anything more than that. You could consider a fertility MOT but other than that I think it’s a case of try it and see but don’t get your hopes up too much.

Thanks!! First things first I need to do a month of ovulation strip tests to see if there is an LV surge and then bite the bullet and pay for a fertiluty test I reckon
