What do people think. Does it?

We've used it.
I wasn't particularly technical about it and didn't explain to him, nor did I squirt it up there in front of his eyes. It was more like a ' just let me nip to the toilet quickly' kinda thing which took any pressure of him...

theotherfossilsister · 03/05/2020 12:56

ah, thank you, did it work for you in the end? Might try hiding the offputting Calpol lube.

I tend to use the bathroom first when we go to bed. Then whilst he's in there, I shove it in. Obviously you've got to have an idea you'll end up DTD mind. But he doesn't even know about it then. I've got preseed but when i bought it he was horrified by the applicator process. Its not exactly romantic. So i just do it secretly.

Dollywilde · 03/05/2020 13:00

We used preseed the month we conceived (lucky cycle 9!) No idea if it was the clincher - and inserting the little syringe of it wasn’t exactly the most romantic thing - but DH was only vaguely aware we were using it and I had a good time once I’d left the bathroom Wink so worth it for us!

theotherfossilsister · 03/05/2020 13:08

Ok, thanks, I had no idea you could apply it away from him. Will get some and do that, is preseed the best?

We haven't got it yet, he just saw it before I was about to buy and was like 'that looks like Calpol.'

I didn’t try conceive plus so not sure which is better - I think they’re probably much of a muchness from memory when I was looking. I would just nip off to the bathroom when it looked like things were going in the DTD direction, pop it in and then come back to carry on Grin

theotherfossilsister · 03/05/2020 13:16

@Dollywilde is there enough in the packet to 'waste it' if things don't go in that direction. The last thing I want is a row where I admit I put in valuable lube and he is 'making me waste it.' Can see how that would go now.

@theotherfossilsister I think it was a combination of knowing my cycle, dtd the right time, Agnus castus, a lot of luck and potentially the lube helped too, we fell pregnant first try. For the second pregnancy we didn't use anything but OPKs, so not sure how big a role the lube was playing....

theotherfossilsister · 03/05/2020 13:41

Thank you, might try Agnus Castus as a colleague uses it for her horrible periods (mine are not that horrible) but still, might help. I am hoping DP can get his analysis soon as mine came back normal.

We certainly didn’t get through the whole tube in the month we used it, I found it in the bathroom cabinet a couple of months back and there must have been half a tube left in there (chucked it, now I’m pregnant there’s enough dampness down there day and night!) I think they sent about 6 applicators but I never used a full one, it would have been an interesting level of mess Blush I only used half of one each time, tops. We did a loose version of SMEP that month and from looking at my chart I used it when we DTD from getting a flashy smiley on the Clearblue. So that’d be 5 times - 3 flashy days (2 x DTD) 48 hours of solid (2 x DTD) and then the ‘one for luck’ the day after.

It’s difficult to know what role it played, I’m definitely not holding it out as ‘this was the thing that did it for us’ but I’d been using the Clearblue digital for 5 cycles at that stage and we’d been pretty diligent for DTD on the static smileys, so who knows. I figured I was spending enough on the ovulation tests so the cost of the lube wasn’t much in comparison!

That said we’ve agreed that we’ll use condoms and cycle tracking after DC1 is born rather than go back to the pill. When we’re ready for DC2 I hope I’ll then be in a good routine with my knowing my cycles, but I’d probably also use preseed from the start, just in case it was a factor this time around.

I was intrigued at the title having never heard of the product. It really does look like calpol. I can’t understand their rationale for packaging something for sex with an image of a real bouncing baby.

It would put me off, I’m female. My libido is much more delicate than DH’s so I wouldn’t be hiding in a toilet squirting things or using applicators in case I put him off or put him under pressure. Don’t women have enough bodily fluid duties as it is?

I’d definitely be binning the box.

We used conceive plus 😊 got pregnant our second month using it. Hubby just put it on him.. I wasn’t about shoving it inside myself first 😂
